I found a 3 at the flea market a couple of weeks ago for $2 😱! I learned 3's fade, 3.5's fade in some areas because they're part 3 and part 4, and 4's don't fade. Mine is ghostly white!
Wow! What a score!!! I love cleaning up old dolls and their clothes. Washing and fixing bad doll hair is oddly satisfying. Tammy and Tressy’s hair needs some love but will come out awesome with a shampoo and conditioner (or fabric softener) rinse. The clothes definitely need cleaning but anything red, black, or dark should be soaked in a water vinegar mixture to prevent bleeding. I clean my dirty doll clothes in a high concentration of Oxyclean, water and Dawn. One thing about only paying $10, you can have fun without the worry of screwing up! Enjoy and thanks for the video 😃💖
Such a wonderful find! So happy for you! I have my original #5 Barbie #1 Ken, and #1 Midge. I gave my Barbie a haircut on her bangs but I had a professional restorer reroot her hair and touch up her makeup and she is just gorgeous. I occasionally find original Barbie clothes at doll shows and I have had pretty good success washing them. Cotton fabrics wash up the best. As previous mentioned separate colors, cold water Dawn, oxyclean, and vinegar. Lots of rinsing after soaking an hour or so. Sometimes you even need to repeat the detergent soak if they are very dirty. Lay flat to dry. If you smooth out the wrinkles while the garments are wet you will not need to press. Sue's Barbie Love on TH-cam has some really good videos on cleaning dolls and doll clothing. That looks like a really good book you showed. I have not seen that one before. So glad my birthday is coming up.....I share my Barbie doll collecting with my daughter. She likes the 80's and 90's dolls from her childhood. Thanks so much for sharing. :)
Great find!! Yes, the vintage clothes can be washed. The whites can be washed with woolite and oxyclean in COLD water. The other items can also be washed the same way with a stain catcher in the COLD water. Also rinse in COLD water very well and pat between a cloth to remove as much water as possible. Then hang to dry. Try this at your own risk. ☺️ I went to Barbie Con a few years ago and purchased a bunch of clothing and everything came out great.
Ahahahaha! Your voice for Ken cracked me up!! "I'm scared of girls! beach?" 🤣🤣🤣 Youre so right, I always thought early Kens looked startled and i can now see that original Ken has an easygoing smooth operator look in comparison. Terrific finds terrific video Kada!
Wow! 😮Unbelievable!!! What a treasure! You may know how to wash the little treasure outfits already but, I just saw your video today and wanted to help you. I think Woolite is the most wonderful liquid soap for your most delicate clothes so, it must be great for them too! Let them soak for a while in warm water for the whites and room temp for the color ones. Then, wash them by hand and let them dry over a white towel in the shade not the sun light. They won’t get damaged… this detergent is great. Then, the dolls with the sleeping eyes…? They look like Revlon dolls and a little bit like Madame Alexander’s dolls… but, I think Revlon is the one! You may check the old Revlon dolls info online…😊 (that is if you don’t know yet the origin of them by now, I’m late with my comment!😕). Congrats and enjoy them all, yayyy!🥰
Oh my! What a find! Most of the clothes and accessories look like Tammy’s. I collect her clothes (they’re amazing too). I have the red plaid dress, belt and purse! Enjoy!
What a wonderful find ! I am no expert by no means, but have washed a ton of old Barbie clothes. I have 3 big mixing bowls, which I use as my washing machines. Always separate colors, becuase a lot of dark colors will run. I fill with warm water and a few drops of detergent and just let them soak for a couple of hours. Next, I refill the bowls with clear water and let soak. I take a bath towel and lay them out and then roll the towel up to get excess water out. Then, I lay them out on a dry bath towel. You will be amazed at the color of the water !!
She is a wonderful blue liner ponytail 3 doll, she was released also with brown eye liner and I believe that the blue one is more rare to find 👽great finds, congratulations to you 🙏🏼❤️
You got the deal of the century! I think I would wash the clothing gently by hand with cold water and Woolite. No scrubbing, just gently squeeze so the suds penetrate the fabric. Thoroughly rinse and hang to dry.
You are adorable. Your enthusiasm is so cute. When I find vintage Barbies or any of that era of dolls, I too get so excited! So what if they are a little beat up. It only shows they were played with and plus how many years have past? Right? You can always clean them up and make them loved again. I'd just find a real pretty dress gown on the Barbie and you'll never know she's one legged!
Great finds! My sister and I both started collecting in 2020. She primarily collects Skipper but does have other dolls. I still had some of my childhood dolls and i made them a house in a corner hutch. Somehow that became 70+ dolls plus vintage houses. I've made many dioramas as well. Telling stories with photos of dolls is my favorite part.
That is a great find! I'm glad those vintage dolls ended up in good hands. I have some vintage Barbies as well and have learned a lot about their care over the years I've collected. I highly recommend not washing Evening Splendor, especially the coat. Brocade and real fur are pretty much dry clean materials. And one more suggestion for your Barbie's "health." Remove her earrings she's wearing. A lot of old earrings have brass in their posts which cause the poor dolls plastic to leach it into their ears causing the dreaded "green ear" which can spread on their face. The first step in treating this is to remove the earrings and don't use them again. Do a little research and you can find safe alternative earrings for your vintage dolls. One really easy, completely safe and cheap replacement, is to snip off the decorative "pearls" in bridal floral sprays you can buy in craft stores. The nylon filament they're on is safe and works like a post if you leave it long enough. Hope this helps. ✨👠🎀
I was on pins and needles waiting for this video! I'm so happy for you!!! That was a great find!❤❤❤ I used to have Ken's tennis sweater and remember washing it without thinking twice! 😅 This was in the early 2000s, so not when I was a child or anything like that. I've found that a lot of the cotton fabrics used for vintage Barbie s do fine if you wash it gently, but I'm not a serious collector so I wash the clothes just to clean them up. Anyway, I definitely like the older Ken, I think he reflects the "manly" look of that particular time period. Happy happy joy joy to you! That was one great estate sale find! As I've gotten older my enjoyment of doll collecting has changed. I used to go really crazy when I found an authentic vintage piece. Now I try to really appreciate each doll, even the seriously flawed ones. It feels full circle now; as a child it didn't matter if Barbie's hair was thin or if she didn't wear shoes, the doll itself had value for me because dolls brought me such boundless joy! I love your channel!! Can't wait to see you sharing more of your collection with us.😍💕💕
You are one blessed and lucky girl! What a find! That's definitely called being at the right place at the right time! Thanks so much for sharing and ENJOY!!
Amazing find 💚💚 they are gorgeous I thought at first the short doll with shoes was the matilda doll from the 70s but I think she had a slightly different face
amazing finds!!! wish I had anywhere near me where anyone had old vintage Barbies or other fashion dolls for sale. all I have ever seen out at thrift stores are the ones from the last 15 years...not even 90s stuff! So I'm probably overpaying for everything online...whoops 😬🤷🏻♀️
Wow awesome score your hubby found 👏! You got the 1st Ken 😍 The others are all so fun to have because they are so old & nostalgic 😃 That is very cool that you share this hobby together 👍 I share the love of dolls with my mom but she's not an active collector like I am, so I too am grateful for our doll community 🤓 That winking doll is scary & reminds me of the head/metal crab body monster from Toy Story 😂
Those are 1950s fashion dolls. These dolls are pre Barbie. You could easily restore those dolls. Those white heels should fit one. A great find. Almost a complete set. Tressy had a key to turn the mechanism for hair growing. Tressy hair can be set ,she comes with little plastic curlers, hair Spray and a booklet for different hair styles. That sailor suit maybe Tammy's but like Barbies clothes most Tammy's clothes were labeled.
Congratulations Kada! What a great find by your husband! I recognized one of the outfits in your haul. The little blue jumper with the white stripe is Tammy’s original outfit. Hope this helps you out from one collector to another. ❤😊
I love your videos! I’m a Barbie fan of course! I have a Tammy collectors book . I think the typewriter , book bag and dress are from an outfit called School Daze! I took a photo from the book, but I don’t know how to post it here. Thanks for the entertaining videos!
Hello it's the first time I see your channel i am so jealous❤❤❤ also I appreciated the way that talk about you relationship with you don't around Barbie❤
Wow amazing finds! I am so happy for you. So many pieces fell into place in your collection! I love how you put the gift set all together. So amazing. I would not launder the vintage clothes at all. It can be risky. Fun video as always!😃
Wow! Congratulations! I am experiencing doll draught - -vintage and new around my area. I have been to all the thrift stores, regular stores every week and nothing 😭🤭
What a wonderful find! There are many eBay sellers who may have vintage Barbie body parts for sale. You may be able to find a replacement leg for your #3. I’m sure it will cost more than your entire find though! 3’s can be very valuable even in less than great condition! Also there are really good Barbie restoration people, who could re-root her hair.
Kada! Your no-buy June is getting off to a great start! 😅 That is such an awesome find! I agree with you 100% about vintage Ken. Of course, I think I already told you my Ken was not treated well in my youth. I bet you can find a leg somewhere if you look into some of the people who restore vintage dolls. I certainly do look forward to and enjoy your videos. I can’t wait for what’s next!
i lreally enjoy you so much. i to collect thrifted barbies and love fixing them up i love making them into characters. example: morthisha addams, dolly parton, bewitched,i dream of jeannie, lily munster, etc, i have wigs made to transform them or a vintage doll needing hair help. keep making your viedos, they are so entertaing and fun. LOL
I believe the little doll who has the head that won't stay on is a 1965 Effanbee official brownie scout doll. The little brown dress goes with her. You may have her arms in the parts bag, as well as the belt to her brownie uniform. I have seen her on Ebay and she is a cute little doll. Not sure how to attach the head, but some of those 8 inch dolls had the head and arms attached with one rubber band.
What!?? $10 for those whole kid stuffs??? That's incredibly crazy cheap in so many levels, ISTG, I bought 1 second hand Skipper doll in good condition last month, $2 only 1 item tho! I know $10 for a bunch of Barbie vintage dolls is best deal ever, I'm quiet shocked 😨
What a wonderful find! And your husband is the gift who keeps on giving! Lucky you! Unfortunately I know nothing about vintage dolls, but I think I’ll search for that book you referenced to add to the knowledge you shared with us today; thanks for that!☺️
🎀OMG! What a wonderful find and only $10.00. Wow, I wish I could find such great things. Congrats to you. So nice your Hubby support and helps on your barbie hunt. I would love to purchase this book. Can't wait to see the nest video. Can you do one on Barbie Looks please? I have the dark haired Ken. Thanks ❤❤
Wow! Es un gran tesoro!! Por ese precio, ya sólo Ken y Barbie merecen la pena. Totalmente. Y tu marido tiene un buen ojo que es fantastico. Qué fantasia de trajes, por favor! Me encantan.
You can soak the fashions in an oxygen bleach but you do need to be careful because they aren’t colour sealed like modern fabrics, but I have done this with Evening Enchantment for example which is incredibly fragile but it came out a treat, so I’ve been able to reinvigorate a lot of vintage Barbie fashions, but I’d be careful with black, red or dark colours. The tennis fashions, you actually have two seperate looks, the tennis whites for Barbie were originally a tennis dress and cardigan, I think the jumpsuit is a PAK seperate. Ken’s tennis whites are complete. Oh…seeing that they’re a set, that makes sense that they came with PAK variations of the original 900 fashions! What an amazing find! 🎾
You can Oxiclean the whites, but do NOT wash Ken's tennis sweater (that blue runs easily, ask me how I know! ;)). I'd guess the Barbie to be a #4. Weird question, does she smell like crayons? (If yes, maybe a 3) I don't know about washing the yellow dress though. It's silk. Seriously good job, hubs! Oh. And thanks for showing the Tressy in that dress. I got it in a bag of thrift items & appreciate the ID. :)
Great thrift find for you too, and thanks for the personal experience about washing. My Barbie doesn’t smell like crayons, she smells like musty basement 😆
I'm still watching - hahaha! Yes there are some really good videos out there about cleaning vintage doll clothes. You can for sure depending (hahaha) - would be happy to direct you to some good videos here on youtube about this topic or put our heads together and brainstorm. :)
@@kadawalden I get that! But most of those, unless it’s dry clean only, I’m sure you could do a gentle soak in woolite - I have two different kinds - one for colors and one for regular neutrals. The Woolite for Darks is really good to help keep colors from fading in the wash. I also use a steamer for getting wrinkles out of those silks and other delicate items. I wish you luck…I know it’s a scary prospect because we want to do no harm. 😉🤗🤩
There were only some that were factory set, without bangs!! #3s. PLEASE!! Soak the old Ponytails Bubbleheads in almost boiling water! For close to 5 minutes, until the plastic part softens enough, to not tear the plastic.😊
Minimum wage was $1.05 in 1962 . You would have to work for almost two days to afford that Barbie and Ken Tennis Anyone. lol. That’s probably mold in the dolls head of Tammy. Definitely wear a mask when cleaning it.
The baby doll faces with adult bodies are the 10.5" fashion dolls of the 1950's. The jointed arms one looks like a Horsman Cindy. The little white high heel shoes probably belong to her. They are very hard to find. The Little Miss Revlon is the main 10.5" fashion doll the other companies copied, including Cindy.
🤣Lol head body situation... this baby doll heads on woman bodies thing...I think that's what confused me about dolls as a kid and why I wasn't interested in dolls. They weirded me out! 🤣 I mean, what do you do with them? Give them a bottle or dress them for a date? 🤣🤣🤣
Tammy is the one with hair to her the typewriter, belts and curlers is to Tammy also the ballerina dress, blue and white play suit ,two piece pajamas, dress with red top this all real Tammy outfits that you can sell ❤why not have talent restorer rerooted the Barbie head with curl bangs and ponytail her face paint is beautiful still then you can have beautiful old Barbie for little money there several that do this in USA❤❤❤😊all in the little bag is to Tammy
Congrats! I remember those kinda dolls from my childhood. The ones 3:01 with baby faces but they had boobs. I always thought that was weird and a little disturbing.
When you mentioned washing the gold vintage outfit, I nearly screamed at the screen. Please seek expert advice about cleaning those delicate old fabrics. I ruined a few things even with being gentle. CONGRATULATIONS by the way. What an amazing find.

I think I would wash the clothing gently by hand with cold water and Woolite. No scrubbing, just gently squeeze so the suds penetrate the fabric. Thoroughly rinse and hang to dry.

That is a great find! I'm glad those vintage dolls ended up in good hands. I have some vintage Barbies as well and have learned a lot about their care over the years I've collected. A lot of old earrings have brass in their posts which cause the poor dolls plastic to leach it into their ears causing the dreaded "green ear" which can spread on their face. It’s such a sweet thought. Incredible that this person kept it altogether 🥰
the rollers are old fashion perm rods and I believe they are grown-up items.
Oh they're for humans? Haha! Funny! 💡
It is a fantastic find. They are amazing. I rarely find vintage dolls or toys. 80's toys and a few Sindy dolls but so rarely.
I was so surprised these things are still out there! 🤩
Yes, and your husband is a star! Hawk eyes!! 👀 👁
I know, right! Also I love Skipper too 😊
❤
What a wonderful find! And your husband is the gift who keeps on giving! Lucky you!
Unfortunately I know nothing about vintage dolls, but I think I’ll search for that book you referenced to add to the knowledge you shared with us today; thanks for that!☺️
Haha, he is definitely the best gift 😄💕
Thanks ❤❤
Thank you so much! And thanks for the video idea! ❤️🤗
Wow! Es un gran tesoro!! Por ese precio, ya sólo Ken y Barbie merecen la pena. Totalmente. Y tu marido tiene un buen ojo que es fantastico. Qué fantasia de trajes, por favor! Me encantan.
I’m glad you agree! Maybe someone was already getting them ready for Halloween 😄🎃
Very beautifull❤❤❤
The clothes at the end is Tammy's, curlers, red zipper purse, phone, etc
So cool, thanks!
Fascinating! You’re knowledge is unmatched ⭐️
Maybe they are Madame Alexander dolls😊 great finds
Oh interesting, I’ll look into that 🙏
You can Oxiclean the whites, but do NOT wash Ken's tennis sweater (that blue runs easily, ask me how I know!
I've gotten some great tips but I'm scared to dive in! 🤪
Wow , many of these items were out the same year I was born “1962”…..
Such a great year for Barbie … and you! 😀
There were only some that were factory set, without bangs!! #3s.
PLEASE!! Soak the old Ponytails Bubbleheads in almost boiling water! For close to 5 minutes, until the plastic part softens enough, to not tear the plastic.😊
Thanks for the tips!
Minimum wage was $1.05 in 1962 . You would have to work for almost two days to afford that Barbie and Ken Tennis Anyone. lol. That’s probably mold in the dolls head of Tammy. Definitely wear a mask when cleaning it.
Ah that’s amazing to think about! Also thanks the the tip about Tammy 🥰
The colored trim on the tennis outfits will bleed when wet
Good call!
Wow! Thank you for the great insight! 😀🤗
Yes, and definitely not Kewpie.
@@amandanelson3345 That's what I thought!
🤣Lol head body situation... this baby doll heads on woman bodies thing...I think that's what confused me about dolls as a kid and why I wasn't interested in dolls. They weirded me out! 🤣 I mean, what do you do with them? Give them a bottle or dress them for a date? 🤣🤣🤣
I know, right! 🤣🤣
Thanks for the info! All great ideas 😃
Congrats! I remember those kinda dolls from my childhood. The ones 3:01 with baby faces but they had boobs. I always thought that was weird and a little disturbing.
I'm so glad you agree! Creeps me out 😆
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hello 👋 new friend here 😊
Hello! So glad you're here! 🤗
When you mentioned washing the gold vintage outfit, I nearly screamed at the screen. Please seek expert advice about cleaning those delicate old fabrics. I ruined a few things even with being gentle.
CONGRATULATIONS by the way. What an amazing find.
LOL! Got it!
Revlon dolls maybe...
That's what someone else said too. Interesting!
🤗♥️🧜🏻♀️🔥🇯🇲🧜🏻♀️🇬🇧🧜🏻♀️
That's a good husband.
Agreed 😍
maybe the child had cancer and the mother took the hair off the dolls to match her daughter. to make her daughter feel better about herself
Oh that’s a really interesting and sweet thought! 💕
Great find 😮
Agreed! 😍
