I keep hearing others who've read the novel say That May isn't actually Blind but I think they've changed some things for the series. I know May knows this isn't Oom and that it's Ai, especially since I imagine they would be completely different partners.
Like Oon would be more kind & warm while Oom just seemed more closed off, just by when we saw Oom with her husband for that short time and how May at first was always a little shocked by some of Aioon's sweet gestures. Maybe she (Oom) was different with May but I doubt it. Now here's my theory, May is/was actually blind but it was from temporary blindness. And if she doesn't have her sight back already, she'll have it back soon. But we know that she knows this isn't Oom, and she's definitely into Aioon.
