I understand why you might not like Gardens of the moon but please continue with the series. For me this is the greatest fantasy series ever written even with all its flaws. The first book is widely considered the weakest one but from there it gets only better and book 3 is a favorite for many people (my favorite is book 5).
I’m currently reading malazan on memories of ice atm. Gardens of the moon the first half was a struggle I stopped reading it and picked it back up like 5 different times but once I got around 60 percent in I enjoyed it a lot. Deadhouse gates was one of the best fantasy books I’ve ever read and I’m loving memories of ice so far just started book 2
@@FantasyandFitness yea I gave Red Rising a 3/5 I wasn’t in the mood for a hunger games at the time and I like Golden Son more significantly but 3-6 was elite haha
you're real for putting gardens of the moon in your d-tier. i enjoyed the first one well enough but had some real issues with it. one of my biggest issues (the sheer number of POVs) is held up as a virtue by people who love this series and from what I hear it just gets more and more prevalent from GoTM so I'm likeeee...
Ya, great list. Abercrombie is the MAN. I am not toooooo big into detailed fight scenes, I kinda get bored of them after awhile, but Gwynne is a fantastic author.
wow, really? The greenbone saga? I haven't read it. I will be getting it next month with the Brokenbinding subscription but I'm hyped about it. BTW why didn't you put the Stormlight archive there?
Oh thank G-d, if you didn’t love my precious Red rising, we couldn’t be friends, but you came through, great list! Though to me it’s undisputed number 1
You compliment Abercrombie for how he writes morally grey characters that are interesting, and then completely ignore how the jade city trilogy does the same thing? Hilo is one of the most interesting protagonists ever, heavily flawed, sometimes his actions are terrible and you as a reader are just shouting at the page for hime to stop, and thats why he's so awesome. weirdge
I would put gardens of the moon higher but I understand the dislike. I finished dead house gates no long ago and it was one of the best books I’ve ever read

Liked the video. Only had one issue. I had to turn everything max volume to hear you.
Great list! I’m like 75-80% on board with this 😅😅
Hahahaha besides malazan what would you change??
Wrath to #1 of S Tier, Red Rising book 1&2 to Turtle, ASOIAF Goated
Hahahaha I respect it. Red rising and golden sun to turtle is surprising! I like it tho, thanks for letting me know!

Yeah very unpopular opinion I know 😅 yeah idk. I’ll maybe give the series another chance but I’m definitely not in any rush to

Thank ya! What do you prefer for plots then? What are some of your other favorites?
My favorites...anything by Anthony Ryan and Ryan Cahill. I am more into the characters than world building. Robin Hobb, too.

Yeah hard disagree with Green bone saga 😁
But hard agree with Red Rising
I need to check out Red Rising and Faithful and the fallen. To me, I don’t think think anything can be as good as Joe Abercrombie

Man it bothers me that the Frugal wizard is the lowest ranked yet imo, the most attractive looking book

No love for Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell
Fully agree on green bone saga, so overrated
Cant hear anything
