何だろう、人間不信が治るピアノっていうのかな。人間全てを肯定して受け入れてくれるような、懐の深さが有る。太陽みたいな。
正直コンテストなんて枠にははまらないかもしれない、でもこの人が弾くピアノを必要とする人は世界中に居る。 それだけは間違いない。

His waltz! He made me smile and cry at the same time... I think he enjoyed playing in this world class competition.
His world of happiness changed my mind to play Chopin's pieces. He has long fingers and great technique to express his inner emotion. Incredible.

I've heard so many of the pianist from this years Chopin competition and this Garcia is the one I keep returning to .He has style , the best judgement in coloring Chopin as much technique as anyone else and more personality in phrasing and shaping the episodes .I want to hear him in one of the scherzi and Sonatas .He likes slower more leisurely tempi and his details are the finer for it ! Yay! Garcia ! The impromptu is quicker than usual and he really had some hand settling problems but his double notes were fine and the doppio slow section's left hand was gorgeous . Bbminor scherzo is hard to listen to after over 40 years of this music .I'm beginning to wonder who but Pletnev or Sokolov can say something new in it . I would never select it for an audience of piano specialists . NO.4 or no.1 say so much and tell so much about the player ! Is he singing .Oh no ! Tey'll throw you out for less !

音面白いなーと思ったくらいでファイナルまで行ってコンチェルト賞までとるとは思わなかったな。
改めて聞いても尚3位は意表をつかれた感じ。
去年のオソキンズ枠かなと思ったがコメント欄を見てると結構心打たれてる人が多い。
ワイはもう感受性のポケットがぎゅうぎゅうなジジイなのでちょっとそういうのはわからないんだけど、この音でしかも感情に訴えかけるものがある、しかもラテン系で異端性もあって、今後が楽しみだなあ。

c'est un génie du clavier et un immense musicien qui a étudié avec Jérôme Rose! Je ne comprenais pas au début toutes ses grimaces et mouvements du corps (beaucoup de pianistes font cela, mais pas autant que lui), mais c'est le moyen qu'il a de faire vivre la musique et le son, et ils vivent très très bien sous ses doigts! Ses grimaces "ne me dérangent" donc plus (il fait ce qu'il veut :D)
il peut tout jouer magnifiquement! Il n'a pas de limites!
c'est le nouveau Sultanov, en lui souhaitant une plus longue vie :D !!!

I really like the Fazioli sound. And the pianist is able to take a full advantage of it . I hope to see him in the finals. He so deserves it.
Which Ballade is the most difficult. Hard for me to tell, but for me it might be 4.
Some minor slips, but he deserved to play in the finals.

Really fantastic sounding piano! I thought it was great for Concerto but even for Solo repertoire as well! This is even better than the 2010 Concert piano. The player has remarkable taste in playing, very musical and poised w/o going over the edge. Perfect!

Dear young colleagues of the up-and-coming generation, please have the courage to be yourselves, to take risks and not be copies of your recordings or of others'. Practice your instrument in order to free yourself from any psycho-technical constraint, to be able to create when you play. Listen to your inner ear, which is connected directly to your heart and spirit, the one that tells you what you feel is you! And the one you don't feel isn't you. Remember that a beautiful "wrong" note by a Kreisler, a Thibaud, a Casals or a Callas is worth more than a thousand so-called "right" notes and that playing that is hygienically and clinically correct is not necessarily a sign of good health! Take heart! Good health to you!

Some of the greatest pianists, such as Cortot, Horowitz and Gilels, made mistakes in their performances, too. But these pianists remain piano legends because of the beauty of their playing. I would rather listen to a piece played beautifully with mistakes than an ugly one without mistakes.
A l l the often missing aristocratic nobility in this unique interpretation of the Polonaise......for my visceral reaction more compelling than Horowitz or...Pollini

Every time I hear the Fazoli it sounds insipid and thin. Maybe it's much better live..
The first time I touched a Fazioli I immediately felt it put all other pianos to shame. Hard to judge any pianos from recordings, though, as so much of what we hear just has to do with the sound engineering

El sonido y la imaginación de Martín es GENIAL, los asiáticos están muy lejos de este nivel. Si el único pretexto que van a usar es el de los "errores", la distancia artística es incluso más grande de la que yo pensaba.
Opino lo mismo. La expresión artística que tiene nunca sera igualada por ningún asiático, lastimosamente en la etapa III si continua teniendo tal cantidad de errores como los que tuvo en su polonesa (fueron bastantes), ninguna expresividad musical lo va a salvar de no poder llegar a la ronda final. Muchos polacos odiaron su polonesa por los errores, a otros les gusto, yo creo que su interpretación fue única y esplendida a pesar de todo.

Thank you for reminding me of the very obvious: music is fun, and it's wonderful!
I usually hate hearing the second scherzo because of how overplayed and overrated it is, but I actually enjoyed hearing Garcia play it. As for the other pieces, listening to Garcia play them made me love them even more than I already did. For me, he's a great musician, because only great musicians can make me feel this way about repertoire I know intimately.

Had the opportunity yesterday to see and listen to Martin's performance of Waltz As-dur in a rather small concert / theatre hall in Madrid. Absolutely fabulous! It was like listening to Chopin himself playing for a group of friends...in love, impresssed and very very moved...olé!!!
