Being raised part Asian, I developed this "superior" thinking in my teens but grew out of the mentality over time. My hair texture is similar to Nicole but thicker. I have black female friends with naturally coily hair and it's absolutely gorgeous because they educated themselves on how to care for it.

At the age of 50, she should know better than to put any curl pattern and texture of hair above another. There's nothing "easier" about her hair. "Easier" depends on what a person does with their hair. If she was trying to give her daughter styles more suited to whites or her own curl pattern of hair, then yes it would have been easier. If she would have given them styles that were suited to their own curl patterns that would have been easier. If trying to give one dreadlocks or an afro, having curl patterns like her daughter's would have been easier. Was Nicole really the best person for "My Black is beautiful"?
