I have the 2019 16" macbook pro and find it amazing and i am in the same boat as you as I intend to hold on to it for as long as I can and it is still functioning. My last macbook pro was 2010 and lasted 14 years!
This works amazing. It took a while to figure out how to add the widgets to my touch bar but i found out after dropping it into the applications folder and then dropping it onto my home screen and then every time I went to load it, it gave me some warning but i forgot what it said but then from the menu bar i right clicked on the popup on the bar and then hit open and now it works great. Thanks!!
i never knew that existed a app for this thank you that u share it with us! the journalists and reviewers like Verge destroyed and ask for removal of the touchbar!the private consumers loved it. now i don't want to upgrade to the m3 max because of the touchbar😢 that key functionality for me will literally collect dust without that touchbar
I really hate my 2017 touchbar; I think it is useless, but I didn't know anything like Pock was out there. I'm checking it out now. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
I agree, it’s basically useless. I don’t think Apple ever unlocked its potential. Try it out let me know how you like it, I still use Pock everyday. I have it running 24/7 haha
I really wanted a Touch Bar. If the M2 MacBook Pro 13 had the updated design and kept the Touch Bar I would have bought that instead of the M2 MacBook Air
I bought the 13" M2 specifically for the touch bar, as it was the only size that had it (and I think the final model to have one?) I personally love the touchbar, and I can do a lot of things faster and easier with it. 👍
@@MatthewPCLO I will too. When the time comes, if Apple hasn't brought the touch bar back, I might switch to something like the ASUS Zenbook Duo, to get some touch bar-like functionality
GREAT VIDEO!!! I'm glad you showed and explain this app....I m have the same Macbook pro 16'' laptop intel and its working gooood i'm keepin it and getting the app...:)
I have an iPhone and iPad, never owned a macbook but this is such a cool feature, it's a shame to see it go. I wish my laptop had a little customizable screen like this.
I still have Catalina OS on my i7 2019 Macbook 16" - is it worth to Update OS to the latest version or one step down ? Intending to run Win-10 on external SSD later on via Bootcamp/ Which latest MacOS you recommend me to install for fast eliable ??
I was running MacOS Ventura comfortably with no issues. I recently updated to Sonoma, so far no issues but I’d probably recommend using MacOS Ventura if you’re looking to upgrade. I’m also running Bootcamp on a partition on my internal drive. Hope this helps!
hey if I use pock I cannot use safari controls yk what I am saying when we play any video it do not shows the video controls am i right just as you said it basically overrides safari and shows pock ??
i have a question about a little diffrent topic. Is it possible to use touch bar like in word or pages but in notion? To make acces on touch bar to underlining the text or to bold it? I've been looking eceryone and i can not find any solution.
That’s a good question, I think notion would need to add support for the Touch Bar natively to the app in order for it to work. Given that the Touch Bar is discontinued, I highly doubt they’d add it unfortunately.
BestBuy has a lot of Touchbar MacBooks still for sale. I know Facebook Marketplace can also be a good place to get Apple products at a good price. If you're interested in getting a Touchbar MacBook, I'd recommend getting an M1 13.3" MacBook Pro.
I'm not familiar with music production software, so I'm not sure how demanding it is. You'd have to check the specs on the laptop before purchasing and see if it meets your requirements. With that said, I would recommend checking out Apple's refurbished store. Apple offers great discounts there. I would see if you can pickup an M1 or M2 MacBook for a good price, it'll last you longer and you'll get more bang for your buck, and it will perform better than an Intel MacBook.
I really wanted to use this app to have the dock on my touchbar, so I go download it and copy it into my Applications. ... It doesn't run, it'll say welcome to pock and tap to customize down on the touchbar. But if I tap the button, the touchbar goes back to normal and nothing else happens. There is no process from Pock running anywhere on the system, and no one seems to be maintaining this project at all. Sad, was so excited to use by touchbar for more than just changing the volume and pausing music.
Hmm that’s odd, mine worked right away and continues to work well. Once launching the app it shows up in the top menu bar and I have access to all the settings. Perhaps I should make a follow up video showing more of a tutorial?
It is possible I'm doing it completely wrong. I just unzipped, moved app to Applications, and opened said app. On a late 2019 MacBook Pro. @@MatthewPCLO
The cursor issue is actually a setting you can disable in Pock, it's so that you don't need to touch the Touch Bar (kinda useless feature imo) however yeah I do also have that issue when switching apps
