Rain Bird L3030 Impact Sprinkler

- A Rain Bird L3030 3/4" NPT low angle, full circle, impact sprinkler with a low angle 10 degree trajectory. These are ideal for irrigating under trees and can fight strong wind conditions. It has two nozzles, this particular sprinkler has a 3/16" drive nozzle and a 9/64" rear nozzle. Optimal operating pressure 40 to 60 psi.

I have the rain-bird plastic popups but I wish I could have them above ground and these metal types all around the house, they are so much more efficient and love their sound early in the morning.👍

Wind fighting is the idea on pivots and farm irrigation which is why these were designed. Usually I see nelson f44a or so on pivots down the pipe and a sr100 end gun at the end of the pivot. But I rarely see impacts on pivots anymore

Loved the L30/L3030 series. I wish Rain Bird still made these due to their incredible performance with a wide range of nozzles. Unfortunately I only have a L30 in my stash. The coverage with the LPN nozzles was phenomenal. You could run these with anything from 11/64x11/64 all the way up to 1/4x1/4 or larger if you wanted to try it. Wish I could get my hands on another one.
I found 4 of these things in the basement of my grandparent's old house, I'd love to see them working

I just picked up a Buckner #205 and a Nelson F33 with dual nozzles. The F33 i can run at anytime because i'm sure it'll run off a hose decently. The Buckner however is a 1 1/4" input with an adaptor to 2" and then a male camlock fitting which i'm taking off.. it will need to be ran off my pump.
I just saw those vids! The F33 runs very well on the hose. The Buckner looks pretty neat.
I would love to find one of these someday.

Not a very common model. It has a pretty good distance even with the low angle.

That has an odd sound when the spoon hits the stream. It’s more metallic sounding. Fighting wind is always. Big concern for agricultural irrigation. Hence why they use low angle impacts

What happened to the lawn? You should have done the test earlier and longer. Perrot is building a similar model with a 7° jet rise. Perrot writes: suitable for the special use under treetops of fruit trees, citrus fruits, bananas, almonds and olives.

The field was sprayed to control weeds and grass for less maintenance, the area will eventually be rototilled and more small trees planted. Nice the similar Perrot is the ZA series. Regards from Western Canada.

How to adjust the rotation in this sprinkler
This particular sprinkler is full circle rotating 360 degrees, it cannot be adjusted to water partial circle.

The rear nozzle is a little smaller using a 9/64 inch (3.57 mm) and front drive nozzle 3/16 inch (4.76 mm).

@@photocontrolI have an l20 with only one nozzle and I have a l2020 with two nozzles like yours. I got them both from a T-L dealer so I think these would be used on a pivot. I wonder if there’s a single nozzle l30
@@thesprinklerguy4875 Yes they would be used on pivots to fight windy conditions or under trees. I have not seen a L30, but they very well could have been produced at some point.

Varias razones pueden hacer que un aspersor no gire. Presión de agua baja, resorte débil, arandelas de cojinete gastadas, residuos / depósitos dentro del área del cojinete que causan fricción. A number of reasons can cause a sprinkler not to turn. Low water pressure, weak spring, worn bearing washers, debris/deposits inside bearing area causing friction.
