It might look like they're just relaxing but the whole time they're keeping the pressure piled on, and it's all going through their hands and forearms. Ridiculously tiring.
You still have to use your arms as power while you're using your legs as the top would easily be pulled away from you while your leaning back, forcing your body to bend more and making it harder to use your legs
Guy Who Ate All The Pizza you’re right. If you watch at 6:25 as soon as he lets go to scratch his wrist on the rope letting go with one hand, they gave up a lot of space
I did TOW for three years, the training was extremely hard, and if you've never competed in this at a decent level you've no idea. Brutal, but great days out at country shows.
They don't have very extreme power-to-weight ratio. Bodyweights for these strongmen is around 180kg and they deadlift something like 450kg. 90kg bodyweight and 300kg+ deadlift is not that uncommon among world elite powerlifters.
Joakim Quensel Are you kidding me? Brian, Eddie, and Halfthor on any team is more than a match for the UKs best, they aren’t called the strongest men in the world for nothing.
But they there are about 540 kg. So, they are competing against about 8 men. Deadlift weights combined of the big the would be 1500kg. But the 8 strong men have over 1600 kg of you consider 200 per head.
Their height would be a big advantage, they would be pulling people off the ground whole their opponents would be pulling them towards it. It would be much easier to maintain traction for the big men.
I used to do this back in the day when we were sort of allowed to have props and locks as an attack and defence. These guys look really fit and don't sit on the floor. When the irish no 3 or 4 had his hands in front of his boots, I thought they would lose the end, but what do I know. Great to see this
Same here, this brings back memories. First weekend in August was a big provincial tournament. Tremendous endurance to lock in that long, you just try to outlast your opponent.
Took part in tug of war yesterday and won and it was best 2 out of three, we won 2 nil, the final round round lasted 1 minute and 20 seconds and seeing the duration here it makes our effort a joke😀
We did this in grade school and I got dragged through the grass so hard my skin ripped only to get the biggest dude on our team and he pulled to entire other team to the ground lol this vid gave me a weird memory of this.
Well actually that's really rude thing to do during tug of war. Squid game players did that because they were really desperate to survive. But in real tug of war, thats something really rude thing to do. Its not against the rule but still unpolite
wolverine team VS adam levine team
Xmens vs Maroon 5's
Danny Siahaan more like Clint Eastwood
Haha..same opinions buddy 😆
x men vs ,marvel
Lies again? Hello TUSHY
16 men stand at a 45 degree angle for 9 minutes
Wow this game is great,l like the tactics

@@marickjolivot you don't hold the rope. You use your waist and elbow to lock the rope.
Bring this back to the Olympics!
Lucky for you it actually is
Now this I would watch. :)

" Pull it! Pull back! Pull it back! Pull it back!"
* Press P to pull *
I just discovered these videos and now this is the 3rd one in a row I've watched.
I did TOW for three years, the training was extremely hard, and if you've never competed in this at a decent level you've no idea. Brutal, but great days out at country shows.
Yes mate, you are the man, now go playing with your marbles!!
ye. I did the same, did it for 12 years a competition level, loved it, great days out and lots of memory's made with family and friend's
Imagine a team with Brian Shaw, Eddie Hall, and The mountain

@@joakimquensel597 Who gives a flying fuck about power-to-weight ration? People remember the guys that lift the most weight.

Since when did tug of war become a game about strategy?
its all about physics
its not as simple as it look
Since beginning and also physics.
Spencer McVey since never.
When the teams are even
The blue team who won looked younger, but smaller overall, especially in their legs. I guess they had just a bit more stamina.
Ha gaaaaay
The most painful 9mins ever
One of the manliest sports out there
Posture of each person in the team needs to be exactly the same in order to win this game
I never knew there was a strategy to this. I also had no idea you need a coach to keep the cadence perfect... kinda like rowing
Tug of war is underated its really fun to play and a also a good exercise
-Who would enjoy watching this- Damn this is lowkey cool af
This is the most random video you can find on the internet right now.
Why am I watching British men play tug of war..
What’s wrong with British people and tug of war
Why did you have to say British men
Lol Lol Nope
First time watching this sport and it's really entertaining. lol
PS: that first guy from Ireland with the bandana is gorgeous.
Took part in tug of war yesterday and won and it was best 2 out of three, we won 2 nil, the final round round lasted 1 minute and 20 seconds and seeing the duration here it makes our effort a joke😀
My whole body feels sore just watching this.
It seemed like a few of them forgot what they were doing they just started a conversation
damn hugh jackman looks old..
Shpendi Jashari may as well be hugh dennis
The little kid in the background at the beginning saying...Pull it back! pull it back!
Amazing how technical this is
We did this in grade school and I got dragged through the grass so hard my skin ripped only to get the biggest dude on our team and he pulled to entire other team to the ground lol this vid gave me a weird memory of this.
Daymmmm they gave it there all. How is this not on mainstream.
superb match
bruh talk about never missing leg day 0.0
Not a single one of them ever skipped leg day ...
Should have taken 3 steps infront

What do you think they’re doing, kid? Leaning backwards like they’re Michael Jackson?
cameraman needs to back up
Nah he had a good shot. Just need another cameraman. He can't get it all by himself.
This needs to back into the Olympic Games
Beautiful
These guys must pull a lot 😜😎
That kid around 0:30 really got on my nerves
Is there an American league? If so, were do I sign?
Me and my friends just scramble around helplessly
Imagine these guys in Squid Game
So the blue shorts had a coach on the sidelines and the black shorts made do with a coach in front of the line?
Chiellini and Wolverine are strong Af
Relly relly relly good computastion game

Lol
Good man.. So nice
pretty cool.
+oma15 goes to show that once cohesion breaks down all things start going south
I’m elementary it was basic
But this is the true tug of war
Are there weight divisions in this?
They really make special TOW boots? that's wild
They are ski boots you bolt steel plates on to them and away you go
Are they even pulling?
Any here after squid game tug of war plus this needs to be a more often thing in real life
5 march 20 I'm 🥈 silver medal tag war is weary heard gems ohhh
Well..I wouldn't expect this on ESPN anytime soon
These men’s are really, sry, super strong, I don’t know who’s going to win, tonight. Just hope the men’s are flexible.
Bhai yr shoes diyo.....chahiye the...game h hmari abhi
Too close. You should have backed up at some point to show them working against each other.
Logan, are you?
Which team would win if John cents and the rock were sent to different teams
Any one tell me why they do not move on and stuck in one place... Becuz i think they would drag with their full strength...
The longest stalemate ever.
It looks boring and easy until you do it... most painful sport I've ever competed in
Poor baby..... try a real man's sports and then we talk!
Did the front guy on the left team have one really big leg and one small leg?
No matter when you lose you shall be win because you do all you have... God is always on your heart.... Ye shall not give up
never skip legday
Back to leg days
I thought this would be so much better...
Why stannis baratheon doing tug of war
