As a Vietnam War veteran, I was always amazed by the Blues with the earlier aircraft performing a 'Fleur de Lis' with the A-4 Skyhawk, which did a vertical spread in all four directions. What is the rational for performing this maneuver horizontally? And in the future, might some trail flight video show the beauty of the spread in maneuvering?

The Fleur de LIs is awesome from the spectators standpoint. Has been my favorite BA maneuver since the A-4 days!

Yes they're at about 400 knots decreasing, on the ready break he loses vertical separation to regain he needs to pull rather rapidly.
