For the money they're charging it's insane that it doesn't provide a more comprehensive readout. It's about $1,000 USD which is criminal for a box with lights and no screen with actual information.
It’s cool product to look at and appreciate. I’d say many people would have use for something like this, but won’t have the money for it. Although damage to amps this could easily save the right customer money. Just not many customers for this. I hope they only produced a small run.
What would a screen display beyond what one can match in the manual from the indicator lights?
Looks awesome - great job Orange!
as an owner of many tube amps with no local amp repair techs, this is a must buy tool
I will buy one as soon as I can afford to do so, with an expansion for testing rectifier tubes.
£850 no way lol. I bought a maximatcher for that. I bought an AVO MK3 for £600. Much too expensive for what it is. No sale.
I'd just buy new tubes. 😂
Buying new tubes will not help you diagnose a problem, not least because each new tube adds another unknown factor.
Building a separate adapter to sell, rather than inserting the extra slot, is crap to make money from miserable and non-serious companies
gimmick
I'm surprised it doesn't test 12AY7 / 6072 tubes. Those are pretty frequently used in guitar amps. At least they include a module for rectifiers now. That was the reason I didn't buy the VT1000. Maybe the next version will finally test all the valves I need to test.
