You guys at DIY Detail have taught me so much about detailing and polishing. All my vehicles get so many compliments on the paint condition that I now have requests from people to make their vehicles look as good as mine. The amount of depth I have been able to achieve even in the color white is thanks to your "tricks of the trade" and I thank you so much for this!

I did my first polishing over the weekend on my brother-in-law‘s Chevy pick up. I started by using the gold standard yellow waffle pad on a Bauer 21mm duel, action polisher, and then I did a second pass with the red jeweling pad on the same polisher. I used a half bottle of the gold standard polish. I thought I’d done a good job. It was getting dark. I don’t have a garage so I was doing this outside the next day when the sun was hitting the paint I was devastated to see there were still a lot of swirl marks Now I’m thinking of doing it all over again, but starting with the wool cutting pad and finishing with the jeweling pad on my rotary polisher. I am cleaning my pads with the lake country 4000 pad washer a lot. That’s why I think I’ve already went through a half bottle. I don’t wanna get rid of the deep scratches. I just wanna get rid of the swirl marks.
You are definitely using too much polish. 1-2oz of polish is all you should need for that size truck. Before doing the whole truck do a test spot to ensure you’re getting the results you want
Good day Guys. As a novice at home detailer that hasn't used a Polishing machine before, what would your advice be for removing swirl marks/ light scratches ? What Would your recommendations for someone who's never used a machine? Great content
Thanks for the video! I have a Griot's G9 (9mm orbit throw). Would that suffice for the wool pad at step 1 and then the red jewelling pad for 2nd step? The yellow pad didn't remove the scuffs and marks on my first attempt. Would a 3-step polish (wool, yellow, red) be better?

The level of reduction you showcased here is exactly what I’m looking for.

Hey guys - Thanks for all the content and tips. For a new car, after decon (some water spots, a bit of glue), two questions 1) is there a need to run the yellow pad and then the red? Or should I go straight to the red? 2) I have a rotary that does 4,400 orbits per minute, one speed only. Is that too fast a speed?
Hey guys, I was wondering... I recently did a full detail ceramic application wash, but I forgot to clay... should I redo the process? Or will it be ok?
