- How to create a graphghan blanket. I am using an I hook and you can find this pattern at my website. www.lilygirlcreations.com I have over 500 patterns and take custom requests also. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
I was stressing and struggling, You have made it make sense....thank you
Thank-you so much for this clear explanation of what you are doing when you change colours. This is the best demonstration I have found of this technique....and it seems I finally have it right, thanks to you! :)
One of the best videos on graphghans I've seen. Thanks for sharing!
Kathryn Pless i agree. seen many tutorials for learning the color change and this one is fantastic.. thank you for sharing.
thank you so much for this! years later and still the most helpful video i’ve seen
Sarah, THANK YOU for this video! Because of it I have almost completed a Lightning McQueen graphghan for my grandson. It's the best one on TH-cam as far as I am concerned!
Thank you very much for showing this, now it makes a little more sense and maybe now I can get over the nervousness of starting something new. You did a really great job, thank you so much.
Great tutorial! This was giving me a headache forever and this video showed EXACTLY how to do it thank you. :)
thank you for this, ur explanation of how to do and change color is the best tutorial i have seen
one of the best videos for graphghan thank you!
I love your video. I'm going to start doing my graphgans like yours.i watched mikey's videos on the crochet crowd and he got me confused.yours is easier.
Thank you for the explination and demonstration!! Still being new to crochet, I find these blankets intimidating….but now that I’ve found your channel I might give it a go…sometime in the future!! Many thanks!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I was really struggling with my graph until I saw your video. THANK YOU!!
I just wanted to say thank you for this tutorial! It was exactly what I needed to be able to add this new technique to my arsenal of techniques!!! I also shared it on the two crochet pages that I belong to on Facebook.
Thank you for this vid. Someone just made a chart and I have never heard of graphagans before but really love the idea. This is a really really great explanation on how to switch without cutting and tying! You are awesome!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I had an idea what to do but I wasn't quite getting it. After watching this, I feel confident enough to start my project. :)
I LOVE graphghans. You have some beautiful patterns!
I can truly say, I would probably never have mastered graphs if it wasn't for your video xx
Oh my gosh, Thank You!!! I just jumped into a graph blanket and got so frustrated with the look! Now, I will pull it out and restart the words doing it this way :)
Likely THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to note is as you change colors, drop the yarn not in use to the front/towards you....so when you turn to work the next row, the yarn is ready to use at the back. I'm finding that I cannot stress this enough to people trying graphs or color blocks. Some patterns state yarn is dropped to the "right side" but with color blocks, there isn't really a right/wrong side. That little instruction is extremely important! Bobbins is a good tip too~! Good tutorial.
ty so much for sharing this clip. im new to crochet and this is the first piece im going to try using a graph i love how neat it looks too no cutting off ends. i do have to say though that i had to have my speakers turned up all the way to hear you properly but thanks so much once again :D
Thank you Sarah for a great video. I have been looking for a step by step on a graphghan! This is perfect :)
It would be nice if you did more tutorials.. There are a lot of great teachers on TH-cam but not many do this kind of work.. you make it look easy.
woww,,,power to you for making this,,its way too much work for me LOL,,,,its only been a year since ive been crocheting and am not ready to tackle something like this LOL ,,,awesome work !!
This is fantastic Sarah!!! Thank you!
Best video. I wished you could have done more.
Great video. You have great technique and remember all kinds of stuff that i forget, like crocheting over your unused yarn if you want to use it a few stitches later. Good stuff. thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Best video I've found on this!
This was really helpful. Thanks.
Thank you for this. You should post more videos. Your colorwork looks so clean.
No worries, Sarah. I'll look up Red Heart With Love and find it. I have a good eye for color. Thanks!
Thanks, good explanation!
This is very helpful, thank you! I wanted to know if you did a video on it... from the very beginning? Thanks! 😊
Excellent tute👍
in the beginning, you pulled the color over a stitch... why didn't you do that in the end? could you not pull/skip and get the same effect? i love this by the way... this is the best tutorial I've seen so far to help me! thank you!
Jessica when you flip it they will all be on the back like they are here... Then you pull them to the front as you change colors like shown in the video.
This was very helpful, thank you so much!
I do great right to left my stitchs dont look right can u do a video demo of the left to right
Thanks so much Sarah, this was really helpful!
Excellent and clear..thanks!!
So cool
BEST video!!! thank you
This is going to help me, I bought a horse graph pattern and wasn't sure how to do bobbins, you make it look very easy do. I wasn't able to see what type of bobbins you have. Are they yarn bobbins? Or embroidery bobbins? Is one type better than the other? This is the best tutorial I have seen! Beautiful pattern too, love the colors, is there a way to prevent the bobbins from tangling?
You're amazing! Next try the tunisian lol. I think the SC looks a lot faster for these graphghans!
Your work is amazing I'm trying to teach.my.self.but being left handed.well ummmmmm? Getting there very slowly
Thank you for a great video! :)
Hi Sarah,
I can truly tell you that this is the best video so far on the internet. I have looked all over the net for the tip on how to handle the bobbins and the yarn especially when the color starts a bit before then the previous row. Have I said that, is this technic will give me the back and front or it will be reversible?
Thank you and thanks for the wonderful tutorial.
Yes, it will be reversible ;)
Where did you get your yarn bobbins? They look much larger than the ones I've seen
Beautiful! Where did you find the pattern? I want to print the same one! Love it
This was really helpful
Hi Sarah just stumbled on this intarsia video as this is a new technique for me. I came across a pillow farm house truck pattern and thought I’d give it a try. ❤️ how you also use a sticky note! Thanks for sharing.
lightbulbs. ty so much!
Thank you I want to learn it so bad
I can truly say, I would probably never have mastered graphs if it wasn't for your video xx
5:08 dont mind me I'm just marking my place :) great tutorial :)
Thank you for the tutorials they are very helpful but I am stuck with my project. I made an online pattern that turned out in 20 pages in print!! This means it will be huge! I want to make a blanket for my 5 years old grand baby. How to get to the right size in print and one square means one sc stich? TIA
How do you work the row from left to right? Do you just flip your work and then make sure to put the tails behind instead of in front like you were doing so they wind up on the same side? Sorry for my lengthy question. You're a pro♥️
Wonderful video! thank you :)
awesome! thank you so much!
I so wish I had the atience and attention span to do this!
So when you flip the blanket around to do the other side do you move the bobbins to the front again? Idk if that question makes sense or not. Lol
Ms. Sarah where did you get this beautiful pattern on the mother and child. I am going to try this and I would like to use this pattern. This is very pretty. Thank you for the lesson.
I love your tutorial. Very easy to follow! Now, I have been asking and searching everything...how do I make my graph for an 18" x 18" pillow for a graphgan? I do not understand how to do that...Thank you! :)
Thank you for posting this tutorial, you make it look so easy. I believe I can make the Denver Broncos Blanket chart now with confidence. One question, where did you fine your bobbins? What brand are they?
How would you do this when the color change is every other stitch and it's going toward the end of the row? Thanks
Where did you get your bobbins ? I love this video I was struggling with this, doing it in sc. I have done c2c graphgans but what I need to do a c2c would have been too big. Thank you so much.
How would you do a row with alot of color changes for example 2 yellow 2 black 1 yellow 1 black 2 yellow 1 black ? I haven't seen one video with a lot of color changes in one row
Great job, Sarah! BTW, that color blue is so pretty. What is that?
Sarah, this is *just* what I needed at *just* the right time! One question--about how much yarn do you put on the bobbins?
I am indeed a Moron...LOL...awesome work!
Thank you!!!
Do you have picture of the wrong side of the graphghan?
Awesome video! Quick question, where can I find that paper that you had with you? To show you show to crochet the graph?
Were do you buy your plastic bobbins they look very big
Your video was very helpful. Where do I get the bobbins you used?
Can you tell me please where you got the bobbins for the yarn? Thanks so much. This video was great.
I'm going to start working on a Graphgan. The graph has 98 boxes. How many stitches do I chain? 98 or 99
So going left to right the bobbins are on back, and going right to left the bobbins are move to the front? Every row switches? And thank you for the video.
LuAnn Crim And it helps to work at a tabletop? I had nearly given up on graphgans, but will try again if I get some help. :)
Do you put your yarn tail ends to the wrong side of your work?
How do you know how many bobbins will you need for each color
found a graph I like would it be ok to say each small square counts as a single crochet unless otherwise noted? This video really is helpful and you do make it look real easy! I'm just struggling with graphs? Thanks for your time!
Yep, Each square is 1 sc. :)
It's Red Heart with Love.. i can't remember off the top of my head the actual color name though
Hi I have a question. I'm doing a graph with a big picture of a face. (Minnie mouse). Does this technique work with large and small color areas? I don't want to carry one color all the way thru the middle just to do 2 sc at each end in some areas, like for the background color. Thanks. LS
Do you do anything to hide the yarn in the back?
Hi I like your video. I was wondering if you could tell me where you got the graphed pattern that you used in this video
I got "Mommy and BABY" from AZTHREADS
how do you do a color change for a single stitch? i understand that you don't finish the last stitch before the change, but how does that work for a single stitch? help please!
Do you have to bring your colors back to front? I was taught to go from front to back. Does this make a difference?
How do I make my graphs?? I need something free..and easy lol thank you! You have great tutorials!
+amanda cassidy this is two sites, one is knitpro the other is pc stitch
hi. when you are using the bobbins are you going to use one for each time you come to a color change?
Do the bobbins always stay to one side or do you cross them over every time? So they are on wrong side one time then they fall to the right side the next time. Do you know what I mean?
I always bring them towards me every time, so yes, one row they will fall to right side and next row they will be falling to wrong side.
This is just wonderful! Thank you for this tutorial! Where did you get your yarn bobbins?
Joann's, Michaels, Hobby Lobby all have them.
Where do you get your bobbins. I like those, you can put a lot of yarn on them.
Graph has 98 boxes. How many stitches do I chain?
Where did you get the yarn bobbins?
how do you keep both sides the same? and your working yarn does it matter where it goes? i see you have some in the front od the blanket amd back.
Hi how many sc for 1 block
can you please tell me how many stitches did you cast on before you started the pattern
Where did you get your bobbins?!
we're do you get the sticky note
Do you tie your lose ends in? If not, what keeps them from working out?
I have a question, would this work with hdc or is it limited to sc to get the same appearance?
+Elizabeth Hardy it can be done hdc too, one per box
