I did my first LTH and VO2 max test last week. Looking at my HR afterwards, I reckon I bailed at 90% and it's eating me up inside! Want another go now.
Iv been there but when your near the bottom of the well you never feel ah sure i can go quicker😂

Great video! I recently had an lactate threshold and VO2 max test done at Bath Uni. Really glad as I was following MAF and was training the top of my zone 2 at 139, where in fact it is 151.

I am a subscriber; virtually stopped eating white bread, especially the sliced variety, when I read Percy Cerutty's books on running way back in the 1970s. Cerruty, coach to Herb Elliott the GOAT runner, virtually had white bread d own as something poisonous to the system1 Besides that, it's tasteless pap anyway!
I remember having some similar tests done in the late 1970s. In a lot of ways mentally harder than an all out race - and just as physically painful!
The Kenyans obviously don't agree with Cerutty 😅I enjoyed his books but he wasn't a dietitian. He also thought you should eat porridge oats dry like a horse 🙈
It probably was poisonous during the industrial revolution when they'd put anything in it to make it white/more cost effective to make.

Personally prefer grain bread just because it doesn’t disintegrate like white bread here in America - however, when it comes to bakery/European bread - I would definitely go for a white, crusty loaf!

I’ve never measured it I tend to go off when the tread isn’t looking good or I notice them feeling less structured. But some say 500?

Are you running with an arm band heart rate monitor *AND* a chest strap heart rate monitor? If so, why both?
Yes, arm strap is mine, linked to my watch. Chest strap was the scientists which pairs with their computer for the data
So first a lactate test = max, and then a VO2maxtest = max? Why don't they combine them? Seems a bit strange to do 2 maximal tests on the same day

The Cooper test can be used to estimate VO2 max. Warm up, then run for 12 mins and get as far as you can. Pref do on a track or if you can't as straight/ flat road as you can. Measure how far you get. There are online calculators if you look for the cooper test that will convert this distance to vo2max. Slight disadvantage is it's very difficult to maintain max effort for 12 mins. But it's a good estimate. And free.

That white stuff hasn’t seen the inside a bread oven so cannot be qualified as “bread” by any dried sausage loving Frenchman.
Get the cameraman to bake you some fresh white flour sourdough bread every morning - you know you’re worth it :)

Lactic acid is not a fuel 😂. It is a byproduct of anaerobic exercise (is produced when running unless you are running at a 100% aerobic pace)
What was your VO2 Max, does it matches with your watch? and was the test results according to your plans? i really hope so. Go get that marathon qualification, so we can see you do a great race in Paris next summer.
I’ve been through the VO2max testing protocol a couple of time for run studies. It’s a beast! Then you look back at how long it actually lasted and you’re like, “WTF?! I wasn’t even running for very long!”
