Any layup tips for 2nd graders 10ft?

Lower the rims so they build confidence and get shooting fundamentals down. That will go a long way in the future. IMO kids generally shouldn’t be playing games on 10ft rims till 3rd grade.

And break it down in stages. Start with just standing near the basket and shooting properly with the correct hand off the backboard. Next add a step. For a right handed lay up have player start with right foot forward, then step with left foot, drive right knee into the air and shoot as in step 1. When they get good at this, have them back up a step and put your left leg forward. Now you step with the right foot and then repeat the second step. Finally when they get this down, take a 3rd step back, again with the left leg trailing. They take 1 dribble while stepping forward with their left leg, then repeat stage 3.
