Gene Roddenberry had wanted to do two such Star Trek movie plotlines: 1. A prequel to Star Trek telling the story of young Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Scotty, Uhura, Sulu at starfleet academy. (he'd actually wanted to do that plotline as far back as 1969! That plotline was kind of finally done in 2008 with Star Trek). 2. The Enterprise travels back in time back to earth in the 1960s and saves the life President Kennedy (the plot was later done on the Twilight Zone). I doubt if that second plotline would've worked on Star Trek
