I have probably 500+ hours on a set of Mobius X8 knee braces and they are awesome. Haven't even needed to replace the foam once, so Chase must have really corrosive sweat or something :D Great brace if you want excellent impact protection as well. Their flexible chassis design is really smart and makes the brace fit super well, I've had custom ortho braces before and these are the closest in terms of fit/comfort. I've tried Pod K8 (decent), CTI (old design, bad knee cup), and Donjoy custom (comfy, but doesn't last long), and mobius is my current go-to. All braces have their pros and cons and fit different legs differently. Some offer a bit more mobility, but sacrifice ligament, or impact protection.
I love my Mobius knee braces for trail riding for 3 years now. I do not even know I have them on. And never hurt a knee when I tip over. Never feel anything on the leg or knee. Never had to replace anything on it for my skinny legs. Mobius was designed by the 2 Ryan's: Ryan Villipoto and Ryan Dungee.
chase, we're the same height/build, im using the mobius currently and we share the same negatives as well. which is why im extremely curious your thoughts on the new pods in comparison to the asterisks with internal boot fitment, for example if the new pod shares the same lower bulk the mobius does or if its short enough to simply sit above the boot. i'm likely to try the asterisks if theres just no match, thanks very much.
If you want the best go for custom made CTI braces. Expensive yes, perfect custom made fit though. Boots need to be suitable as well, Gaerne SG22 has a wide opening which helps big time.
Tore my PCL and MCL in the asterisks. Impact protection is not good either. Thin plastic. They are a gimmick. Went back to Leatt dual axis knee guards.

My issue is being tall, the Möbius’s felt like a workout bending my leg far enough to get my foot on the peg

Do any of them have an adjustable hinge
Asterisk FTW
Should of put this out before Glendale so a certain someone could have watched it 👀
I've had pods for 17 years carbon fiber broke before they wore out 3rd set were the plastic and haven't broke
Ruthless putting this up after Jett's ACL
knee braces don't prevent tearing acl's . they prevent hyperextension ....& help reduce the risk and severity of injurious
Jett just tore his acl in the Mobius
So did i
Sure I heard he stopped wearing braces altogether
@@nathancrittenden8525 nope. Theres a picture of him and hunter sitting with their gear on and you can see jetts mobius braces

Nothing is foolproof but I wouldn’t ride without knee braces. Not even the most expensive helmet can stop a concussion if you hit your head just right
It can’t hurt 🤷♂️
