SCS's Euro Truck Sim 2 had an opportunity to put the game's first 4-level stack or the insanely complex M-40/A-4 junctions, but instead went for the uninspiring cloverleaf that don't even have the collector lanes to protect traffic from weaving on both cases. 😒
It's even more weirder than that. Somehow around A-4 M-40 suddenly becomes M-45 when it's not the case IRL, then reverts back to M-40. SCS has taken some liberty with some interchanges, for example the Z-40 (A-2)/A-68 interchange near Zaragoza is shown as a trumpet with the leg going towards the city center missing; and there's no exit off AP-7 at CV-20 near Vila-real as depicted in-game IRL.
At least they managed to include that double decker tunnel... But since the game is made in a 1:19 scale (cities are at 1:3 I think), it's impossible for it to include every IRL interesting place.
I have to say that I really like watching your videos from Spain. I have a question which is not related to highways, but it's kind of important. I have seen a certain amount of cranes near the highways. Is there a lot of commercial/residential construction going on in Madrid right now? New developments will certainly create a need for new highways. P.S Greetings from Serbia :D
Well, Aleksandar, Madrid is constructing new neighbourhoods east & north-east of the city. Zones like Valdedebas (Just opposite to the Madrid-Adolfo Suárez-Barajas' Airport Terminal 4) & practically the eastern arc of the city (Just east of the neighbourhoods of Vicálvaro, Las Musas (Where the Atlético de Madrid's stadium is), Las Rosas & Valdecarros) were countryside, but as Spain's economy was going out of the 2008 financial crisis, those zones were converted into new neighbourhoods for the new people arriving to Madrid to live & work, specially from South & Central America
Great drive and the chat! I quite noticed the M-50, a 4th partal ring road that is not full ring road unlike M-30 and M-40. Why is it not a full ring road. The northern section of M-50 is missing.
Great video, thank you for sharing
Thank you for the comment!

Oh that is sad. M-40 does indeed have a lot of very complex junctions.
some things need to be simplified, however, the 1:19 scale. Such a knot would occupy as much as many cities in the game

Thank you for your comment! As Pedro mentioned, there's quite a lot of development going on in areas like Valdebebas.

Hi, the reason why M-50 has not been completed is because building the missing section would require very expensive tunneling below El Pardo mountain.
A very impressive highway
Thank you for the comment!
¿Cuánto dura el vídeo exactamente?

M40 designers should be awarded with a street in Madrid, as well as a pensionated medal.
