I found this you tube channel days ago and I love it. I don't have any experience in this field, but I feel I'm learning a lot. Thanks for sharing all this information. You guys are doing an amazing job :) Greets from Argentina! 😊
I felt half of these points in the first week of my marketing internship. I'm sure I will feel the rest next week. let's gooooo 🤣 Great video by the way. Thanks!
heyy can you update us on how your internship is going?? I am doing masters in digital marketing after the summer so please let me know if you recommended it. I already have a bachelors in cyber security. Do you think I should stick to digital marketing or switch to business??
Yes & No. As a Digital Marketer you are expected to be more or less everything! I think there are misconceptions, perhaps new entrants believe it to be just managing organic social media and creating content.. But its much much more than that!!!
Hey good video! I can see you've approached this from a product marketing perspective and I agree with everything you said. Perhaps one thing you could have covered a bit more (as to reasons not to be a digital marketer is the rise of AI SAAS). I am also a digital marketer since 2009 and I see the digital marketing industry headed down a sort of D.I.Y path with hundreds of SAAS platforms. Its happening already, but its going to be happening even more and more, with companies realising they have someone in-house just cherry picking certain elements they might need rather than going down the full stack digital marketing agency route. I enjoyed watching your video though, its all really useful information for newbies into the digital marketing space.
Hey, there are a number of different paths you can take in digital marketing! Some are quite well-payed, not only in salary, but also in benefits and rewarding aspects of the job, like making a real impact to the company's success. Also, if you want to grow in the field, make sure to use your transferrable skills! We have a great article covering salaries and career prospects on our blog - check it out here: careerfoundry.com/en/blog/digital-marketing/digital-marketing-salary/
I have 10 years of experience my salary is $80K in New York. Digital Marketing is underpaid . The good thing is you can do your stuff on side and make good money.
This depends on industry and what exactly you’re doing. I do demand gen and have always worked in-house. I make $110k. My benefits are pretty good. I get 12 sick days a year, now at 18 PTO days, and they usually send me to at least one conference a year. There are some other perks. I should also point out that I’m not a manager. I’m an independent contributor. My job isn’t exactly entry level, but it only takes a few years to get to where I’m at. I think I’ll do one more jump and stop once I hit $120k-$130k salary.
welp , now im having second thoughts about picking digital marketing as a course in CareeFoundry and i cant switch because im in goverment funding. gggrrrreat!
In my professional opinion, I would recommend getting some digital marketing skills and then leaning towards being a marketing manager. These jobs are likely to be around and more in demand than say a digital marketing manager. Because marketing managers manage the agencies, creatives, copywriters, videographers, SEO agencies, SAAS platforms and so on. Also its important to remember that digital marketers often tend to specialise quite heavily in one area be it PPC, SEO, graphics, video, web design, sales funnels, and so on.... If you spread yourself too thinly trying to please everyone everywhere you will struggle. There is just too much to learn and its constantly changing!

This video gave such clear insights on the negatives and cons in this field. Great video!!👍
Thank you for the comment! We're happy you find it insightful🙂
Are there more demotivated video ?
My biggest problem with Digital Marketing is that salaries are too low, especially at entry level. Also, the path to growth is slow and long.

Man I'm trying to think between Marketing or Data Analyst
@SFayeLewis Data analyst bro. Don't think about it. You could also give a shot in cyber security.
@@The_Cynic We'll see I may try my hand at just studying for both and seeing which one I end up liking more I guess?
@@The_Cynic why? Can you do data analyst as freelancer and as a business like you can do with digital marketing?

As a digital marketer don't you have to be savvy in tech software etc.... Cuz maybe I can market but I do NOT know how to use computers! I'm 28
You need to be comfortable and have an affinity with computers, software and AI, yes !
