Your going to find it hard to listen to anything else other then Ethel Cain for a while, idk why but it happens to a lot of people after listening to her for the first time
I think I’ve watched every preachers daughter reaction to exist at this point and I think this might be my favorite. You get it. I’ve listened to at least one song from this album probably about every other day since 2022, it just still does something to me that nothing else can idk, call it an obsession
hearing preacher's daughter for the first time was genuiely a life-changing experience for me, so glad you got to experience this masterpiece p.s. family tree is my most favorite song everrrrrr
The giraffe in the background just like 🧍🏼 But in all seriousness I love how deeply you feel music, always so happy to see people loving their love yk? ❤️❤️❤️
Love this album !!! Thank u for reacting! Another fellow trans girl here who adores this album and cries every time I heard it 🤍🤍🤍✨ LOVEEEEE UR ENERGY GIRL

This album is absolutely gut wrenching. Honestly props to you for being so vulnerable and making it to the end of the album in one sitting😅 Getting past Hard Times was roUGH
The moment you reacted to the production and everything in the first song was an instant like lol. The fact that your first impression of Ethel was Perverts... I just knew you were in for a good trip with this one. Can't wait to watch the rest!
You’re so beautiful and you have such a warm and comforting presence ❤! It was a joy to watch you be swept away by this album and clearly so many of us can relate. I’m a cis gay man but I can imagine how healing and cathartic it must be to experience and relate to a fellow trans artist in this way and to have that kind of reflection. It’s profound and I’m so happy for you mama 😭 Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience with us!
im so glad you listened to this! your reaction to perverts was AMAZING!! you need to listen to her other 3 other eps “Golden Age” and “Inbred” and “Carpet Bed”
NEED you to react to Inbred and Golden age as well! I feel like people who are discovering her more recently haven't paid as much attention to her first two EPs, but they are both absolute masterpieces. It's also really interesting to hear how much her sound has evolved! ❤️
sun bleached flies is the first Ethel song I ever heard and it actually changed my life, I remember thinking this is what a religious experience must feel like 1:51:24
I have been camped out on this app waiting for this reaction to drop i cannot wait to see where you land with it Post watch edit- felt. Molecularly felt.
This was such a beautiful and emotional reaction, it made me think a lot about the themes of the album and discover new things about it, even after listening to it for years.
Sooooo happy you recorded your reaction!! Listening to this album for the first time is such an amazing and indescribable feeling, glad you liked it!! You should definitely listen to Famous Last Words (An Ode To Eaters) by her!! And also her EPs!!!
I just wanted to say I love your reactions because it's not bullshit! You're not afraid to show emotions and you express your love for each track and really put thought into it. I LOVE YOU
i was WEEPING by the end too this is so real. it's an amazing experience to listen through it i'm so glad you did after watching your reaction to perverts
I'm only 11 minutes in to your reaction as I'm typing this, but I just wanted to say: girl your joy and love for music and art comes across so well and it's amazing to watch! It's my favourite thing in the world to see people enjoy a thing they're really into, it's inspiring 🥰I watched your reaction to Pervets just yesterday, didn't leave a comment but I was definitely thinking you'd enjoy Preachers Daughter too 💖 keep sharing your joy, it's appreciated!
YESSS im SO glad you listened to this 😭 this is genuinely one of the best albums of all time. can't wait for you to react to her older ep's. also: yes, she still plans on finishing the trilogy, she has said that's basically her ultimate goal; although, it will take a long time to make, possibly around the same amount of time it took her to make preacher's daughter or longer for both preacher's wife (next up) and preacher's mother, but just trust, it IS coming :)
You are beautiful, and I so deeply recognize the ways you responded to this album. There's nothing like it, and there are very few people making videos like this who seem to actually, fully, deeply resonate with this music. Thank you for sharing this moment with the world
I remember the first time I discovered this album. I saw an edit from the movie “Bridge to Terabithia” using “A house in Nebraska” audio. So gut wrenching 😢
I watched your Perverts reaction yesterday and was so tempted to tell you to listen to preachers daughter. Glad to wake up and see you reacting to this! Thank you for being a ray of light
I just recently found her music and I've been doing a deep dive the past few days, looking up the meanings and lyrics and it's so beautiful but gut wrenching. 😢 Amazing art and I'm so glad more people are also finding it and experiencing it.
I just want to say that your reaction to this album is by far my favorite. Not only because you’re so into the music, but because you go through the lyrics and further explain the songs.
first video of yours i watched and im just obsessed with how u actually pay attention to the lyrics and clearly have music production knowledge based on how u talk about mixing and stuff! glad you’re blowing up :)
So excited for this reaction!! For a little context on those first lyrics on Family Tree (Intro), Hayden herself has tattoos of crosses on her arm in a sleeve style, we believe she’s referring to those “crosses all over my body”
good theory but I personally think the line is a metaphor of her looming fate as the preacher's daughter that she will never escape regardless of how far she run. also, the legacy of her family etched on her entire being, running through her blood.
I listened to tracks here and there from this album before but a few months ago I listened to ptolemaea and it blew me away so hard I can’t stop listening to the whole thing. Quickly became one of my favorite albums of all time after that. Great reaction btw
idk if youre gonna see this but if you do i HIGHLY reccomend kristin hayter, she used to make music under the name lingua ignota and dropped 4 noise esc albums that kinda have a classical/folk touch to them, and under the lingua name she used to talk about themes of abuse and religious trauma. she now makes music as reverend kristin michael hayter and dropped a STUNNING gospel album called SAVED! which you might love.
I am a massive fan of her 🖤. SAVED! was my favorite album of 2023 and inspired me deeply. Thank you so much for thinking of her and recommending it to me : ). Very special artist and woman.
Hi there! I’m a big fan of Ethel and your reaction on this album and Perverts really made me happy. You look like a great person with great taste in music. I hope you’ll react to her other albums too and I also advise you to listen to Lana Del Rey, since they are very similar. Love you 🫶🏻
I cried with you the whole way my love ❤ you’re beautiful through and through, I hope you know that. You’ve touched me deeply with how vulnerable you were in this reaction. Thanks for sharing yourself with us in this way ❤
Definitely had to subscribe, What makes you different from alot of other reactors is that you don’t do cuts or payed full reactions!!! Love your energy and everything about you!! Thank you 🙏
I’m so glad you listened to Preachers Daughter!! Absolutely loved watching this reaction, I can’t help but cry right a long with you, her art certainly leaves such an impact. I absolutely adore how you express your emotions and let yourself feeeeel the music (very relatable). As well as speaking your thoughts so eloquently ♥️
What a great reaction!!!! I love this album so so so much, it's very dear to me. If you want to listen to another bold and different concept album by a trans woman, i highly HIGHLY recommend Wallsocket by Underscores, and it deserves a reaction, believe me 💕💕💕
i loved this reaction, it was so comforting! :,) i’m currently suffering from the stress i put upon myself when i decided to procrastinate with studying for exams and this video kept me company while i was struggling with my project so thank you😭❤️
This may not be everyone's case, but I don't think I can listen to Ptolemaea after the first time I did. It's so hard to listen, and sit in that dread and anxiety and once you realize and look into what's happening during the song 😢 its so hard
