Beck is badly cast. His voice is far too young - only suitable for a young constable just graduated - not a higher ranked officer. The make narrator would have made a more believable Beck. Quite off putting and detracts, for me, an otherwise very good story and production.

I think he's well cast - the actor who plays him was in hi slate 40s at the time of recording. He sounds quite world-weary to me which is appropriate.
