Interesting - they're statistically average for reliability. My most problematic car by far was my Porsche, which I then replaced with a Pug that's actually been flawless in the 13 months I've now had it. Being a 308 GTi, the engine is beefed up though so is better than the regular THP if you had that, especially older ones. And since I always have to mention it - both my cars I mentioned have been reviewed by JB! The Pug very recently...
@@ApothecaryTerry I had the 200 bhp GT. Lovely looking as I murdered it out with the original black roof rails and dark metallic grey rims. Ahead of its time for looks, but just not robust enough for me.
@@nuggz22 That did have one of the less reliable forms of that engine, but I feel like the cars must just be a bit hit and miss overall since the overwhelming view on the internet seems to be "Prince/THP bad" even though the stats don't back that up - but stats are always average so never exactly reflect the experience of individuals of course. I do also wonder if minor issues like trim go under-reported on cheaper cars too, whereas on fancy brands the stats look worse since owners report every tiny issue. If that's true (I'm just hypothesising) then it would make sense that something like an RCZ perhaps isn't equal to a TT on real overall issues, even if that's what stats say. I'm still expecting to blow mine up, but that's my penchant for smashing the throttle at every opportunity rather than the car's fault 😁
In my opinion the best looking car by far is a Ferrari 288 GTO.....It has curves & style...just like my Wife....Another great vid JB & wishing you all the best....
Best looking car: 2000GT. I spent a few mins earlier looking at it back to back with the E-Type that inspired it. The E is great, but it's not hard to find flaws with. E.g. the windscreen too vertical, wheels too far inboard and that weird straight bit under the windows where they clearly couldn't make the windows go down far enough into the haunches without it. The 2000GT takes the idea, adds pop-up headlights and nails it, only the wheels could be better. The Brera and XK8 have to be on their way to classic status and appreciating values surely. Perhaps I'm just getting old but I genuinely find the various forms of the XK better looking than the E or F types. That Astra is also annoyingly sexy too, looks like a concept car, albeit an incredibly chavvy one.
The best looking car a money can buy are 2 cars a blue with white interior lexus lc500 convertible and konigsegg ragera with the ghost pack blue carbon with gold accents

So many to choose, so little money I have!
All of these cars cost more to tax in the UK than they do too insure, so what's the point? it will cost you a fortune to own and you will never sell it unless it is completely mint, and then it will be for peanuts!
For anyone shopping for a £5k car, you've basically described their experience for any car they could realistically buy. Tax on the RCZ (the version the stats are for) is £255 which is a lot less than most people pay on insurance - especially the sort of younger people who are likely to be buying these cars (plus I'd guess this channel has generally younger viewers). Not many cars are actually worth buying, cheap to run and a solid investment at £5k - that's basically an i10 or Jazz. Very decent cars, but no owner of those would be watching this video, unless they're aspiring to not be driving one of those - in which case this is simply a slight budget increase, it just happens that it's being spent on ownership costs rather than purchase price.
@@ApothecaryTerry Acording to Auto trader even the 1.6 model of the RCZ is £305 to tax for a year and they were talking about the 2.0, and that's before a Labour budget... I get your point on the amount that younger drivers pay as my 24 year old daughter is paying £200a month to insure a 1.4 Vauxhal Astra, but this is not affordable to 90% of younger drivers....
It's getting to the point where an old VW Polo is more to tax than it is to buy, then add on £2k insurance it's rediculous... The GB government are hell bent on trying to price anyone out of owning a car.....
@@downy8586 The 156hp RCZ should be £255 with a manual - it's only the auto that's £305. The R is, hilariously, cheaper at £210 - but it's also got £2k front brakes 🤣 Same as my 308 GTi (as seen on the channel! Shameless plug...). The 2.0 is the diesel, that's £190 to tax but it's also a diesel so emissions zones everywhere screw it. A FWD coupé with a fun chassis and diesel is a weird choice anyway though, just like the auto. If an old VW Polo costs less than its tax, we're talking again about £200-300 max - personally, I find it scary that people buy a set of tyres costing that much, let alone a whole car. I'm sure good cars for that price exist, but ultimately yeah the cost of motoring is a lot more than that. It's like buying wine - if £6.90 is tax, then a £7 bottle is 10p of wine, while a £10 bottle means spending 31x more on the bit that matters. Cars are similar - if you're guaranteed to spend £3k on other costs in the 1st year, spending 10 years ago since EVs need to stop bypassing it (heavier, more road damage & brake/tyre particulates). If it does go per-mile, that will help those struggling to buy a car, even if it limits their options to use it a bit more, but it seems least-worst 😄

I owned a brand new RCZ in 2014 for 5 years. Literally the most problematic car of my life. Steer clear of Peugeots
