    I personally don’t like the patch idea, and I think molding a snail out of metal would be a cute solution. You could replace one of the buttons or rivets with the snail, or place it on the corner of the collar. It’s expensive, but having a literal Iron Snail on the jacket could be a special edition idea. Lovely!
    PS: This isn't to say the patch is ugly. It's really nice, and I think a slightly smaller patch on the shoulder would look alright but sometimes it's better to have subtle details.

      Best idea yet

    • @Zecyon
      @Zecyon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think this is a great idea. Also thought of the idea of having a massive iron snail logo on the inside on your back. basically a painted on logo almost like rogue territory does on some of their special jackets. Just to keep the branded, but “unbranded” look

      Love that idea, and the subtle detail, for me speaks louder than the eye turnning loud patches. Love the jacket design though...

      Definitely metal mold is much better. Cool idea

  • @nathandkreosote9917

    I love the patch and I think it should go on inside back where most other labels are on my jackets to keep that unbranded look. Custom buttons would also be a subtle nod to the iron snail while not being too bold.

    Been following you through the journey. Super excited! Can't wait to get this jacket. I think the patch should go on the inside behind the neck, where N&F usually puts their leather patch.

    It looks fantastic. I like the intention of the rivets on the pocket. I also prefer the patch to not be sewn on, but since you went with the embroidered version it would look really great when the jacket (and patch) have worn in a great deal and those threads start to fray and the patch gets a more vintage look.

    I know this is an old video now (just recently discovered/started binging your channel), but that 2nd sample jacket without the pockets is gorgeous! I rewatched that 2 second clip a few times. Congrats on the Prologue jacket, in particular the Thief's revamp. Stunning

  • @kkstpattisday
    @kkstpattisday 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree with Jose, the patch should go on the neck or directly under the leather patch if you get one. Then there could be a circle on the back of the jacket and possibly a silhouette of the iron snail from tacking the patch on with the stitching. Great content as always Michael.

  • @R.Eg.S

    Okay you version emulating SMPTE color bars @5:33 - the most delightful thing I’ve seen this week.
    And then again at 6:04 with very vivid (slightly surreal with bluish patches of grass for some frames) color grading following it - YES! 🤤
    Like a well colored vlog slipping into a bit out of it like it saw a monet painting a Monet painting & thought that’d be fun - anywhays made me smile.

  • @SamuelJArthur

    I like the patch mainly for how unique it is, I feel like while it's not my favorite thing, it would grow on me and set the jacket apart from others.

  • @rduderacer3410
    @rduderacer3410 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m a No Go with the patch; but alternatively I’d also option the patch on the back where you see the sewing for the leather interior patch. This location is not so prominent when coming at a person but yet is in a discrete and proprietary location. Although I like your peachy Snail concept, bring a veteran, I’m biased to more muted or subdued colors in line with the color of the denim.
    As a huge Trucker III fan and collector, and being a larger fullback sized guy, I have found the only fit that works for me is Levi’s Premium Vintage Fit. I have a hard time finding any brand of salvedge denim in the 40” or XL/XXL size, so I hope you will offer larger athletic cuts. Looking forward to your success

    I love the jacket. I love the patch. I’d love to see the patch on the inside of the jacket.
    I’d maybe even go for an ink stamp of the patch design on the inside of the jacket, on the pocket backing. Similar to how I + W used to do on the inside of their pocket bags.
    Definitely include the patch with the order, though!

    Hey Michael, really love the jacket and really happy for you that it's coming together :)
    As always, your videos bring so much comfort and joy and feel so carefully crafted, so yeah, thank you very much for them.
    I wanted to ask you if you're planning on making the jacket available to order from Europe ?
    I live in France, so most of the time, I can't really buy the denim products that you include in your videos without spending a lot on import taxes and shipping fees, but I'm happily willing to do that for your jacket if it's not a NA-only item.
    Whatever your answer is, I'm really thrilled to see the final product :D
    Take care

    I like the pockets integrated into the seams as well as the rivets.
    Suggestions:
    1. Add Corduroy collar and inner cuffs. I know you want to stick to a basic design. But I use to hate these things, but they really grew onto me. Adding comfort, strength and contrast to the piece.
    2. Make hardware bronze for more of a rustic look.
    3. Add patch inside the jacket and try playing around with small patch labels on the pocket in Cahartt Style or Levi’s style. Stick to earthy tones to avoid over branding.

    Have been subscribed for some time and moved to Jersey City earlier this year, so hey neighbor! I love the patch, but would prefer if it came separately. Think it would be nice to put it on in a preferred spot, or not put it on at all. Also, potential choice of a patch, or coming with multiple patches? I quite like the idea of having the blacked out patch on an indigo jacket.

    That's a great logo. Love the colors. I think you should put the logo in the middle of the shoulder at the back below the neck seam. Or you can embroider your logo on the collar in the back so that you can see it if you pop the collar. You should also include a pin button with the jacket so that your customer can pin the button on the collar ends or on the boob pocket. Love your ambition and energy. Keep up the good work!

    can’t find the community tab on the youtube app, but i vote for no patch. the reason being so that the owner of the jacket can place the patch anywhere on the jacket in order to have a sense of customization/ personalization to it. now, if it’s not too costly, make a metal iron snail pin. maybe it could go on the collar for a little bit of flare

  • @claudejean4978
    @claudejean4978 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How bout just a tiny embroidered snail, just the snail from your patch-Like the Jason Mask on those scary britches you reviewed. Then throw in the patch in on purchase and/or sell the patch separate.
    TBH you could prolly be selling those patches now to help fund your endeavors, down here in the south its really popular to throw those patches on hats - specifically Richardson 112s - I prolly could not afford the jacket but I'd ware that hat. Ive looked into them for my leather business. You can whole sale the hats for 2-4 bucks, throw a patch on them or have the hat embroidered with a matching colorway hat and sell them for 20-30 bucks. And the national park patch on a Richardson trucker would look killer, Id ware that thing all the time.

    I hope that the patch makes it to the jacket. It is so unique like never before.
    To be honest: I want The Iron Snail jacket and not just a jacket so the patch makes all the difference.

      AGREED! This version won't have it sewn on just because so many people want it clean but I'm eventually going to have it be an option :)

    Congratulations! Jacket looks great! (I voted for the option to just provide the patch separately). Get some rest while you're waiting on buttons!

    I think the patch should come on the side and you can patch it wherever you want on the jacket
