There is another good Zelda-like that is currently a Kickstarter Project and it is called “Elementallis”. It’s basically 2D Zelda with elemental elements. I would like to know your guys’s thoughts of it.
Thank you! Just gonna be a bit different, especially during this transitional period. But I'm excited for the content I have planned for y'all. I'll have more to share in the near future :)
I decided to give the original Legend of Zelda for NES a proper shot, and I’ve grown to appreciate what it was when it was the only game of its kind, as well as how every game afterwards improved everything the original attempted. Edit: And on top of that, when I realized that I could die many times and still have everything I’ve collected, it made me realize the first Zelda game was probably one of the first rouge-like games.
Great little bite-sized experience. You can play it in one sitting, but the tower ultimately lifts up the experience and makes me want to replay it. Recommended!
I just finished playing it. I was really surprised at how expensive it was despite how short the game is. There are no towns, no one to talk to. There is no real plot besides reclaiming your stuff and your dog. It really feels like a tech demo. When you finish story mode you are thrown into the Tower mode which has leveling. I got bored at floor 7 or so and just quit. The developer has a really solid foundation here so I think they should have added more content. Also I noticed the game update is 77mb, which makes the update bigger than the base game itself. Why is this? Very odd.
Castaway is like Zelda and Dragon Ball with the art style and character designs with a sick Roguelike and pixel art style just like old school Nintendo Gameboy Advance or DS style on Nintendo Switch that I can't wait i'm so HYPED to play this! 😊❤
I used to think that, I still play a fair amount of roguelikes as they release what I've kind of realized is that a lot of the newer roguelikes are just objectively better than a lot of the older ones
Plucky Squire looks so much better and like Zelda Link's Awakening remake and pikmin combined. I'm excited to play that one. This game could be good too though. How much is it?
Bite sized is super generous. I'm not mad -- Wendy's wants the same price for a nasty burger. But this was the shortest game I've purchased since the 1980s. By far.
The tower is NOT a roguelite. It's just an old-fashioned challenge run, much like the 100-level challenges in Wind Waker or Twilight Princess. Calling this a roguelite is going to be an unnecessary turn-off for many people.
@whycantwebefriends9178 That's like saying the original Super Mario Bros is a roguelite because you start back at the beginning when you die. In a roguelite, some sense of progression/ leveling up is carried over between runs (such as Dead Cells).
@@flickering_wick i dont really Like the distinction too much, but in rogueLIKE there is no meta Progression. In Mario when you die, you have lifes and there is no perma death. You can even collect more Lifes. That is Not possible in the Tower. The Tower ist a roguelite.
You guys haven’t had Pipeline in two weeks! I miss it! One of my favorite gaming shows around these days. You guys always make it fun and just talk about gaming which I appreciate and keep the podcast moving.
I refuse to play short games with no content. When i pay for a game with my hard earned money, it needs to be full of stuff to do and be a long experience. Examples are Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest games. Im not saying anything bad about this game at all its just my opinion about what i like. A really good game that is done perfectly is Legend of Mana. You can spend only 20 hours playing the main short stories or for people like me you can truly immerse yourself in the world and spend 500 hours gathering all the game has to offer. I guess what im saying is the short games that are littering the eshop are getting old. Again just my opinion. Play what you enjoy.
This game is literally 7 bucks lol I don’t know why you would think it needed to be 20+ hours or so. Not like they’re selling it full price ($70) it’s an indie game lol.
To be honest, yes agreed. With the $8 it costs to buy this game I would rather buy the actual Legend of Zelda Oracle of Seasons or Ages cartridge from my local Goodwill.
The real question is can we become friends with a Volleyball?
I'm sad to there are no Volleyballs here...BUT there is a dog!
@@GameXplain I can live with this compromise
@@GameXplain When will this get a physical version on Switch because I don't want it digitally

I played the demo on Steam and really enjoyed it and I think others will too.
It looks pretty cool
& It's only like 8 bucks
Welcome back Gamexplain, i thought you guys quit. 😊

"The online service for Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will end on Nov. 28, 2024 at 7:00 AM PT."
You guys gone or something?
I hope the creator makes many more rooms and enemies for the Tower and makes it fully pseudo-procedural.

Gameboy Advance is 16bit and Nintendo DS is 64bit
stupid zoomer does not know what they are talking about
Welp I I Think This it's the Last News So...Thank You So Much Support Me,Notification Me and We Love You!
I really missed pipeline Fridays I hope there’s something.
this game looks adorable
The indie market is oversaturated with roguelikes, it is getting old.
Flavor of the year
Roguelikes
Open worlds
Faarrrrrmsssss!
I used to think that, I still play a fair amount of roguelikes as they release what I've kind of realized is that a lot of the newer roguelikes are just objectively better than a lot of the older ones
Ask ten gamers what a Rogue like is. I did, and only two had a solid explanation. The others listed games in that genre.
That's not a very strong criticism lol
I 1000% agree. It feels like half of all indies released these days are rogue games. It’s stale already.
Will you have a look at under the island please? Its an upcoming Zelda like that looka awesome! Nice Review btw, Just bought this gem :D
Everyone is talking about the video rather than the fact that gamexplain hasn't uploaded in a while.
A video game being 2 hrs max??
I'm buying ASAP 😂
Plucky Squire looks so much better and like Zelda Link's Awakening remake and pikmin combined. I'm excited to play that one. This game could be good too though. How much is it?
I was interested in this until I saw that it was a Roguelite.
Half the game still isn't. And I'm not even a Roguelite fan myself and still had a blast
I’ll likely wait for either a sale or added DLC content
They need to make Zelda-like indie games
There's a bunch of clones already and this is one of them.
Man this person been uploading for 10K videos! Keep up the great work man!
did... did you get ad money for this one. because you literally sold me on the game in the first 4 seconds
Bite sized is super generous. I'm not mad -- Wendy's wants the same price for a nasty burger.

If they bring this to the evercade i will pick it up
Looks cute, but it's too short, the lack of any NPCs and the rogue like part doesn't convince me.
I have one Question Andre are You existing for epic Mickey Rebrush it’s half way September, just a heads up.
GameXplain... Where are you?...
I'm disappointed in Nickelodeon for ruining the Backyardigans!
(We are castaways)
based Backyardigans enjoyer
It looks fantastic, i just wished it wasn't another Roguelite.
No review score?
Nope! Wanted to try something a bit different here :)
Cute game, but sword not on a or b button hurts me.
Roguelike?... neeeeext -_-
Aren't they scared of getting suid? This character looks a lot like Link from botw/totk
What is "suid"? I know you meant SUED. They can't be sued just for making game that is inspired by Zelda. That's not how copyright works.

Calling this a roguelite is going to be an unnecessary turn-off for many people.
But it is. Randomized Levels is the only ingridient Missing Here, and the Levels would be randomized.

Great channel man. I hope your channel keeps going strong!!! Have a great time at PAX!!!
Developers need to stop Roguelikes and roguelite😖
Why?
I don't like pushing things
Welp. You may not like the island portion too much then haha. But the Tower mode may still be of interest, as there's not much of it there!
Is Zelda link awakening and rouge like
