I was born and raised here in Michigan and wouldn't trade it for any other area ... hope you enjoy your visit here next spring. Good luck to you and travel safe.
Love your videos! I am from MI and vegan and your vids are the BEST. My parents honeymooned in Paradise, they were poor and camped there (from Saginaw in the lower peninsula). THere is a stone you can find in the UP called yooperlite, and it glows under a black light. Can be found on the shores of Lake Superior. You might need a blacklight flashlight though.
I'm a new subscriber, The Edmond Fitzgerald sank at White Fish Point & my friend Larry Hasskell Dad lost his life on that ship . quite a few guys were from Toledo, Ohio area. 😮😮 I haven't been to White Fish Point since 2019 . Gordon Lightfoot wrote a song about The Edmond Fitzgerald. Tahquamenon Falls is a beautiful place to explore, Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore also . Everything is beautiful in Da. Up of Michigan. Thanks for taking us along . I used to hike but got seriously injured on the job. I used to drive a semi . Give Joey a hug. Stay safe .
I had my top fabric fall down like yours is in my suv .. I used Gorilla glue and adhesive spray and It looks like new staying up even in humid area's that I stay at.
🙋🏽♀️Beautiful 💓‼️I enjoyed the video 👍🏽and with a very full heart can I say how much I LOVE the way you look on your fur baby (Mr. Joey 💓)Stay safe out there on those highways and byways 🙏🏽✌🏽
You definitely want to see Copper Harbor. Several other of my favorite spots are Bond Falls, Grand Marais (nothing there but the fantastic beach with all the stones/rocks and the Natural Springs Kitchitikipi.
You and Joey make my Sunday morning very special. I look forward to the scenery and the info you give about the places you visit. Happy journey and stay safe.❤😊
Hi Chantel and Joey, OMG it's SO cute there, love it. Safe journeys my friend ❤ Your videos are so relaxing and love the soothing music you pick. Bye Joey
Drinking coffee out of my 10yo Paradise mug right now! So sorry too cold for beach good rocks with all that wave action. Hopefully u get to check out tahquamenon falls and pictured rocks. Can't wait!❤
Shipwreck Museum is awesome. Gift shop totally worth it. Check out Gordon Lightfoot's song "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" It wrecked 17 miles off Whitefish point.. We spent hours there. Freighters pass by there also. Copper Harbor is truly beautiful; especially in the fall. Joey needs a haircut.
I don’t blame you one bit for not wanting to leave that spot. What a way to wake up in the morning. I’ve been wanting to travel to Michigan but didn’t know where to start. Thank you for sharing your experiences. It will help me narrow down some areas to visit.
I was just in the area you are at. I keep looking for me. lol. The up is great hope you go to the locks and copper harbor Brockway mt…. When are you coming back? The go now. Enjoy gods country
There is an old song from my younger generation by Gordon Lightfoot called The Wreck Of The Edmond Fitzgerald. Check it out, White Fish Bay is mentioned.
The sun may be out, but the wind is blowing, and it's looks cold out there. I love cozy, little towns. Those pickles were expensive. Oh, my gosh! That was an expensive shopping trip. The museum was nicely taken care of. That museum store would have kept me busy for a long time.
Thanks for another good video. Always great to see you. You look happy! ❤ I’m glad you’re finding lovely places, even though pickles are crazy high-priced. lol 🥒 💰
I am just loving your whole Michigan adventure because my cousin and I are doing the same thing next year. I have been watching you for so long and your videos are great. And by the way, I’d love your hair… You and Joey are quite the team!
New to your channel and absolutely love how you're exploring Michigan. Welcome to fall in the UP. It will be absolutely gorgeous up until Halloween. If you like winter it's beautiful then too, very cold and very snowy. Hope when you crossed into St. Ignace that you stopped at the Welcome Center and picked up a waterfall map. The UP has lots of waterfalls. Hope you enjoyed Paradise and maybe White Fish Point. There's lots up here. Most of the "touristy" stuff is closed but you can still meet your basic needs, do a lot of exploring and have a good time. Houghton Hancock is the college town for Michigan Technological University, then on up to Copper Harbor, etc. Hope you two have a grand time and safe adventures here in the land of the mitten and the rabbit. Thank you for sharing your travels.
Hey! I don’t know if you’re still in the UP, but I was just at Wells State Park (actually on Green Bay) and it was AWESOME!!!! I’ve got a site recommendation for you - it’s perfect!
@@MyBasicJourney I live in Mi if one travel the UP you plan for food you cook not restaurants. Marquette / Escanaba /Newberry has a good Dollar General /Ontonagon /Ironwood. Walmart Marquette is the stock spot a regular city .
I thought I would try the vegan diet. I give props to you for having self control lol I love my drippy cheeseburgers and steak too much and no way, I was able to not have my bacon. I lasted 4 weeks and was like nope, I am not a vegan and I do not understand why if people are anti meat but buy fake meat like Vegan pork or chicken. ??
I'm curious why you keep saying "Mac" instead of the accurate name of Mackinaw/Mackinac? Are you unsure of how to say the name properly? Have you heard any locals say it? Lots of people watch your videos for the travel aspect and it seems that correctly presenting the names of places would be helpful.
When referring to the bridge or the island, locals use the nickname "Mac." A few videos ago when I was in Mackinaw City, I said the name of the town. You can go watch that if you'd like. (;
Tomorrow is my last day in a sticks and bricks so I am definitely heading to Michigan in the Spring...Thank you so much for all the information...❤❤❤
Wow- that’s so interesting! Hitting the road? Sending you waves of support!
@@BattyBev heck yeah, Bev!! Congrats and happy travels(:

When you were in Alpena, you saw an old little library being taken down. A new one has replaced it. ❤

I agree
I was STUNNED that anyone would say Copper Harbor isn’t worth it. Definitely a must see area!
It's most definitely worth driving to copper harbor!
I so agree!! It's beautiful! Did she stop at Tahquamenon Falls? magical place. So much to see on the Keewanaw Penninsula!!
You have to go to Tahquamenon Falls. And Copper Harbor is worth the drive.
Anyone who claims it isn't worth the drive to Copper Harbor isn't a true Michigander.. lol

If you ever go back to st Joseph you can get a sticker at the kinda big five and dime store (step back in time). Its among shops on bluff area.
It's called g and m variety on state street.
what a very refreshing channel . Glad to have joined.
Near whitefish point is where the Edmund Fitzgerald went down
Love small towns but not the prices at small stores like that lol I am sure everything is very expensive every where you go.

I think you should check out Grand Marais. It's not far from where you are. There are agate beaches there. I love that place.
I definitley wanna go to the shipwreck museum. I would love to visit wisconsin someday too.
You pronounce Taquamenon perfectly :D
I would have gone to the place the people said that there was nothing there...curiosity of a cat..lol
Glad to see you are doing well. Haven't tuned in for a long time and you and Joey are traveling. Very proud of you. 😊
