    Hey Alec, I’m an IE and I love the new warehouse. For some extra lean with reducing footsteps, might also get some ergonomic floor padding, improves visual flow and physical strain for little cost, something to think about. Keep up the awesome work with all these great projects.

    Alec, This is exactly why i LOVE watching you! You show your mistakes and help everyone learn from you. Lots of other smiths on YT make a fancy production out of their videos, condensing a month of work into a 20 min video, with no mistakes and everything absolutely perfect... but you show what went wrong so other people can be better smiths from watching your stuff.

    You guys should do storage racks on wheels next door. That way when you package whole orders , you can move the racks needed for that order closer to the packageting area. This option optimizes the packageting process greatly, and is used in many large scale production systems in the world.

    Man, I tried to order one of your hammers the exact moment y’all went live, tried for the 2.5 first and something was going wrong with getting payment processed by the time I worked around the problem they were sold out. Jumped over to the 3.5 and too late, also sold out. The 4.5 was still available but just didn’t want one that heavy. Can’t wait till you get more made. I hope whoever you chose to make them videos the process just like the guy in Canada did.
    Keep up the great work 👍

    • @koretechx1
      @koretechx1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I had the exact same issue. I watched the countdown to zero. The page refreshed and I went straight to the 3.5 hammers as tried to order one. Basically, as it was so nicely explained to me by Alec, they sold out immediately with launching globally. The system created that shipping error in response to inventory reaching zero. They're having it fixed. Good luck and I hope on Monday we both get the hammers we've been after!

    many years ago I read a novel by Michael Slade.. the title was Headhunter. In this book there is a knife described, it is a machete with a groove running on either side of the blade along the spine, from handle to almost the tip and fitted to this groove and running in it is a weight which would slide from handle to near the tip as the blade was swung... increasing the momentum of the blade allowing 1 swing decapitations, with less muscle power needing to be exerted by the "headhunter" . I have always wanted to see this blade in real life to see what went into making it and see it being swung at melons and pumpkins etc as in comparison to an ordinary machete. Maybe a project for Will the bladesmith.

    Try to put bronze sheet between every stainless steel layer. These two connects very well and I think, results will be astonishing. Another thing, stainless is very reactive to oxygen, so would be good idea if you use induction furnace full of argon till you heat up, because if you use your oxy-propane furnace, you will contaminate the material. Just thoughts! ;) And another thing, stainless has bad thermal conductivity which means, thermals distortions and deformations will trying make your life hell... so be patient and give it a chance. I work with stainless 5 years already and I purely love it. Another important thing is... DO NOT USE YOUR ANVIL for stainless, also hammer... you can use some thick aluminum sheet between anvil - stainless - hammer :) If you need certified stainless steel tig welder... I am free ;)

    One should never use tools (grinding discs; belts; heck, even brushes) that are made of or was ever in contact with mild/carbon/... steel on stainless (austenitic at least).
    Hence the corrosion pattern you experience.
