May 1st Karl-Marx-Allee in East Berlin GDR, 1978

On the 1st of May in 1978, it is Labour Day in the GDR. On this day, the citizens, the military and all SED politicians demonstrate for the socialist state and the socialist system they have to defend.
Among them is Erich Honecker, who is the SED general secretary at this time.
The politicians gather on a distingiushed gallery, underneath, there are thousands of demonstraters, waving the GDR flag.
In addition, a parade of the paramilitary combat group takes place. Their mission is to protect the achievements of the German Democratic Republic.
