I'm three months here in the Philippines. My very first trip to the immigration office I met a fellow American that had fallen off his motorcycle and had gotten injured in the process. I too was a 13 year old independent man-child and I drank heavily until about 23. I'm 50 now and I rarely ever drink. I can go a year without even thinking about a drink. Life is so much healthier this way. Here I'm seeking peace and silence, smiles and laughter. Nothing else really matters.
Great video , excellent message , I quit drinking last September, can’t believe how much time and money I wasted with that stuff , 46 years worth , and yes here in the Philippines it’s so easy to get caught up in the partying lifestyle , but I will say this it’s much easier to quit drinking than try to control it , I don’t miss waking up with those ridiculous hangovers !

I agree about being extremely careful while in the Philippines in terms of over drinking and driving. it’s interesting in life that the old saying about “ I’m lonely so i drink, and I drink because I’m lonely”. But yes, I agree when I’m not drinking , mainly on a Friday night or so. I become extremely productive in other areas of my life…..great video content…Aloha brother!

Holiday mode is dangerous. Happens all the time in Thailand, result is homless expats, disappeared, or plane out to some where. Its the girl bars and men thinking only with there pecker thats the problem.
Playing in a band that has bar gigs can introduce you to people that enjoy drinking, too. I usually drink coke or water when I play a gig. Musicians don’t play as good as they think they are when they are drunk. My Dad was a beer alcoholic. He has been dry fir many years. By the way, Thailand decriminalized marijuana in 2022.

Then it became clear that you are making a point about how easy it is. to end up doing something you didn’t plan on doing from the beginning. This can apply too many things. Anyone honest knows that there’s demons constantly looking over our shoulder. A great way to bring out a thought of reality in often confused times.

Yep. I just don't drink out. I only have a beer at home and we on a farm. So I don't drive and I'm safe. I don't drink alot anyway . But I only here to be happy with my wife.
You brought up dark issues that many ignore . It didn't come across as a lecture but it certainly came as a warning. Moderation of everything in life keeps one steady and balanced.
The demon alcohol tends to bring out the worst in some. If you go to the Phils., keep a level head and your passions within due bounds! Cigarettes was tough for me. I smoked for 33 years with a minimum 1 pack a day, 4 packs a day at the worst, habit. I quit cold turkey in 2016 and the withdrawal really kicked my ass but now, I have no desire to fall back into the slavery of tobacco.
Me and my buddy watched a fight card. We drank a case of beer, then we go to a party, I drink more beers, then someone gives me moonshine, I downed a bunch. I had never been that sick before. Took several days to get better. I stopped drinking after that Great video man.

Then the feds rob the armored cars carying the money came from the dispensery and that's not legal on a federal leval so the cops steel the money give it all to the feds and get like 70% back. So now the local cops are spying on the feds. Thailand legalized weed.
