Thank you for comment, in 30yrs this pond has never spawned, no idea why, maybe because of pergola cover, no rain, i did once lose a Hariwake which i thought might have been egg bound 😢

I use a Fishmate P7000 auto feeder that only allows for 3 feeds a day although you can select how much food is dispensed each feeding. To be honest I'm not sure how much I have it set for I just know the fish clean up every pellet every feed and are doing well. I really should calculate how much I am feeding. ⚖ Like you though they also get hand feed meal worms, soldier fly larvae and silk worm pupae two or three time a week as well. I think they probably eat better than I do.🤣🤣🤣
Hi Ken , pretty sure your P7000 feeder can be set up for more than 3 feeds a day ,you need to go into frequent feed mode ,which allows as many feeds you want up to ( I think ) 20 feeds ,hope this helps 👍

Before setting that up I'd need to determine how much food they're getting in total each day as the feeder takes the total amount and then divides it equally into the number of frequent feed intervals selected if I'm not mistaken.
