Bought a pair yesterday in a size 10.5 at JD’s and I almost paid way over retail at one of those brick resellers in the mall. Is it the most hype Jordan release ? Not at all, now a days it’s all about collabs, Travis Scott’s and all of that. But these are the first retro J’s I bought in a very long time and it brought me back to 15 years ago when I was buying these releases left and right.
And the beauty of it being available is it doesn't need to serve any hype agenda when it reminds you just how happy you were chasing these in the past!
To be fair, everyone didn't participate in the resale market. Some people are just tired of the prices constantly rising without much more being offered. Jordan doesn't update their tech so if people have decided the value isn't there for them, good for them. If people still want to pay the $230, they clearly did online and in stores.
I For sure didn’t partake in the resell world and I’ve been buying Jordans since 2005. I just couldn’t put myself to do it. But I’ve watched the retail price for GS pairs go from 89.99$ to now $185, and the quality isn’t getting better. So technically the retail does make a difference. I’m still going to buy because I just have a love for Jordan’s. I also do understand the stupidity of ppl who did buy resell complaining now lol makes no sense.
And I respect it, I think some people will always be willing to pay whatever the market rate is for something they really want if they value that item that much.

Happy Holidays! The Concord XI was the first shoe that really blew me away when I was kid but my mom was absolutely not buying them. Being able to have that pair in my collection now is special, but I also know I don't need own every XI.
I think it’s great, I went and picked up the olive 9s when they dropped recently, and I can’t remember the last time I was actually able to go to the mall and pick up a jordan on release day with no problems. Anybody who wants the shoe can get it, I also ordered the legend blues from goat because it literally made no sense to buy from the store when they were below retail. Good time to be a sneakerhead 💯
I bought them and I have the 2014 pair. When you look at them both it’s clear what the intention was. Nike seems to want to make a more durable less premium feeling shoe and purchasing experience. There approach is seemingly to combat the resell and replica market by making the price higher to make it less profitable to resell and releasing more to make the shoes less rare and more accessible.
Thanks as always for the content and discussion. You touched on an interesting point that may be worth discussing in the future: the current market is superb for the Nike/Jordan fans but it’s largely been the adverse effect for NB, ASICS and Saucony. For example, people are unable to grab popular GR 991v2s and 1906L, or just a popular GR color Kayano 14. I purposely haven’t felt too much stress over it, but I’ve seen the sentiment shared around the interwebs.

Got these for retail earlier this morning. This will be my last shoe purchase of the year. I’m happy with this purchase. Now it’s time to focus on paying these bills.
My last purchases of the year was the Travis Scott reverse olives, and the Jordan 1 royal blue lows. I am older and the only Jordan’s that work with my casual style are the Jordan 1 lows. I am just not into the other Jordan’s anymore.
And if that's where you are in now in your style, hold to that. I've noticed I reach for my Jordan 1s much more than every other model I have, next would be the Jordan 3s.
I absolutely love being able to walk into the mall and buy what I want. I do care how other people feel about what I love. Love that BC3’s are available. I hate having to go to GOAT. Don’t like paying resale, with that said I have NEVER hit on SNKRS. I have won (pricing) on GOAT with some of my grails. 😂 got to have fun at work.
Some sneakers dont sit (due to numbers of them made) and odd ones fly off shelves. My girl wanted these Reebok pump Frankenstein... sold out day one. Aliens romulus kicks... sold out. Converse xmas gingerbread... sold out. Air tech trainer... but again they didnt make many of those. So as you said stock numbers effect things.
Im not judging the collectors or pll who love this shoe BUT. I like to wear my shoes. These are on countdown to self destruction soon as you put them on. Too expensive for a white shoe imo. 🤷🏾♂️

The sneaker stores around my way had full size runs. They're nice and I've had them in the past. However, the $243 after tax was a no go for me. 😒 I couldn't justify spending that on a shoe that released the year I graduated high school which was 1996. The shoe was $125 back then and it's damn near doubled in price for the same tech and lesser quality patent leather.
Its more of resellers problem if you ask me most of us wanted this pair just because we either never had this color way we wear our kicks with pride not to resell

She apologizes profusely and explains that she had mistaken what was in my bag for what she believed would be on the shelf. Security is stunned! I passed on these only because a all white 11 I’ve heard many TH-camrs say this and I agree once you wear this a couple times they will start to look nasty af and dingy wayyy to much maintenance
All models don't work well with daily wear over time in all white like the AF1 does...and this is probably going to be one of those pairs. I too don't like to baby shoes with a fear of them looking beat after a few wears.

A factor I've constantly highlighted too in my videos because we shouldn't still be asking why every pair sits. Everyone should not be rushing to keep up with every release, taking care of their needs, saving and investing have become priorities for people. Trying to keep up will keep a lot of people strapped for cash for no reason other than to say "GOT'EM".
Easiest cop ever. Even though it’s an OG colorway, it’s not as coveted as Playoffs or Concords, and plus the higher cost. The quality is a substantial decline as well. They did a great job making these look like the OG but the patent leather is super thin and leather feels cheap 🤷🏽♂️
This release trash and last release was too. That blue tint is horrible, I copped both of the last ones I had such a hard time getting rid of them. Bring back the OG soles for starters, also overly white shoes ain't it.
I know a lot of people don't care for the blue tint on shoes because it does NOT age well. We will see how people feel about these a few years from now with a lot of wear.
