The main advantage of a current transformer is that it allows for the safe measurement of high-current electrical circuits. It also provides a convenient way to monitor and control the current in an electrical power system.
The main disadvantage of a current transformer is that it is not suitable for measuring very low currents. Additionally, the CTs have to be calibrated in order to ensure accurate measurement.
