The difference is that in this version that he’s watching, they’ve put the studio recorded audio of this song, if u put the name of this song on Spotify you’re gonna see that exists 2 versions of this song, the TH-cam version, and the movie scene version. If you search for “ I’ll never love again - movie scene ”, you’re gonna see that she did it live to the movie. And that’s how it is, ALL of her performances are live.

If somebody said Barbra Streisand sang My Man live from Funny Girl, I can believe it because the audio doesn't sound perfect. It sounds as if she's singing in a hall. This performance sounds like she's in a studio. I am not saying she can't sing it live, she probably could but she didn't sing it live here. Plus, no artists in the world sing live every single time they go on tour. There is no way or else your voice is going to be damaged. They use pre recorded live versions and use it for the majority of their tour. We are talking about artists touring & singing hundreds of events in a single year. There's no way they could sing live every single time. So when people say certain artists never lip-sync. I was like, yeah right. Haha
She actually sang all the music in the shooting of this film live and in front of real audiences. She insisted on this during filming for a more authentic film. She also sang this very shortly after her best friend Sonja has passed from Cancer. She got the call that her friend was not doing well and she left set immediately to go to her but missed her passing by 10 minutes. It was an extremely traumatic loss. Her family encouraged Gaga to do what Sonja would want her to do so she returned back to the studio and filmed this scene within an hour of all of this. The emotion you see and the sound you hear is very real and raw emotions. She sang this song for Jackson and for her friend. She said in an interview about this and losing her friend, “ "She gave me a tragic gift that day and I took it with me to set."
