This is a real 4-speed Super Sport and it lived in California. Only 350 miles on the body off frame restoration, I put on about 40 of those. I've been driving this car all day. As a matter of fact I'm sitting in the car right now. It drives down the road great, engine runs strong, shifts through the gears easily, has cold air conditioning. Everything seems to be working. Same owner the last 26 years. He is a collector that has 30 cars. It was a clean California car in survivor condition. A mechanic bought it to restore. Of course he was always busy working on other people's cars so it didn't get done. The collector bought it and had it completely taken apart and gave it a body off frame, nut and bolt restoration. Every so often he would spend a few days and get each of his 30 cars out for a drive to exercise them.
EXTERIOR: Show quality. The body is very straight and fits real nicely. I don't see any problem areas, no bubbling, cracking or shrinkage. Repainted it's original Nantucket blue color. The metal flake is laid out evenly, the color is uniform all around and it has a very high gloss polished finish. It has painted on stripes. Upfront it has a new chin spoiler, bumper, grill and emblems. The SS grilles on the hood are new. The wiper arms and all the stainless trim around the windows are new. In back it has a rear spoiler, new tail lights, bumper and SS gas cap. The door jambs are painted real slick, it has new weather strips and window seals. Chrome 17 inch wheels have performance tires.
INTERIOR: It is brand new inside this car down to the last detail. New dark blue carpet, news factory console with a new Hurst 4-speed sticking out of it. There's new cushions and upholstery on the seats. New door panels, armrests, window cranks and handles. The metal is painted as nice as the outside of the car. New dash pad. New factory tachometer and gauges. The knobs, heater control panel, lenses, deluxe walnut grain steering wheel are new. The visors, headliner and mirror are all new. The GM seat belts are even new. Literally I'm sitting in the car and I can't find one part that hasn't been replaced. It all fits real nice too. It even has a new owner's manual in the glove box.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely rebuilt motor with fresh oil change. It is a 1968 396 with an aluminum intake with a dual feed Holley carb, Mallory ignition system and its dressed up with new chrome valve covers, air cleaner and alternator. New power brake system, new power steering. New Vintage Air heat and air system. The car runs cool with a new radiator and dual electric fans. It has new horns, a battery disconnect, new wiper motor, the squirters are hooked up, new hood insulation.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Real solid metal that been neatly spatter painted. New wiring harness, trunk mat, spare tire cover and weatherstrip. New trunk latch. The bottom of the trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy blue.
UNDERSIDE: It's been body off frame restored. The front end has been all rebuilt- ball joints, spindles, bushings, springs etc. It has gas shocks front and back. The rear springs, bushings, hardware we're also replaced. New fuel tank, sending unit and stainless steel lines. It also has a nice exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers. The brakes are all redone, new brake lines and e-brake cables. It has disc in front. Looking up at the motor it's spotless, starter is rebuilt. It has a rebuilt 1967 Saginaw 4-speed trans. New clutch and shift linkage. It has a 12-bolt posi rear end. The floors are all dry, clean metal. Clean pinch welds along the rockers. It was prepped and sprayed with a durable chip guard paint.
I can personally vouch for this one. It was good to me all Sunday afternoon. It looks like it was done right and it's still fresh. Big block SS with a 4-speed, air, power steering and power disc brakes. What more do you want?
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you will be given a 1 year membership.

Jay . I'm sure like everyone there are days when you think "why do l bother?" But when you have the opportunity to drive cars like this you must think "Oh Yes !" It's everything an early Camaro fan could wish for , and at a surprisingly good price........And you still get a couple of film critics ! One of whom l answered to ! Thanks Jay.

Backup lights don't work...looks like the rear deck stripes don't match up with the front hood stripes as far as the width of spacing...

Do you think the previous would go to all the expense and trouble of restoring this and lay down the stripes incorrectly ........think about it !

      Look at the pictures...
the hood stripes are closer together than the rear ones...the gap on the trunk is as wide as the stripes are...the spacing on the hood is closer together...the hoods right the trunks wrong

    Jay,
I want to ask a dumb question?
All of your vintage cars, which are the best brakes, all drum brakes or all disc brakes?

    • @VoloMuseumAutoSales
      @VoloMuseumAutoSales  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

From Jay, "Disc are better than drum. I was told once drums heat up after a few uses they are not as effective."

Perfect car I'd buy it now if it was painted like an SS.

Why do they insist painting Z stripes on every car. You advertised it as a true SS but would like to see the tag.
