I find it strange that the narrative is “why don’t women support female rappers or the WNBA”. I personally don’t listen to artists like Cardi or Meg kinda for the same reason you do. I don’t personally enjoy it but I still listen and support beautiful women under the hip hop umbrella such as SZA, Ari Lennox, Kari Faux, Jorja Smith, Solange, Noname, etc. It’s cool to have your own opinion but to say female rappers aren’t given more attention because women aren’t supporting them is weird. Maybe it’s the industry itself that doesn’t support them the same way they do men. Just a thought. But yeah there are many really talented female artists in hip hop for sure. They’re just not made mainstream/given the attention they deserve until they 1) sexualize themselves or 2) go pop to get a radio hit. That’s how I see it from my pov at least.

There are so many popping lyrical female rappers out there i.e. Noname, Tierra Whack, Chika, etc. Like y'all just talking right ow as if people are looking to rappers like Saweetie for guidance. It's just music dawg. Agent made a good point "Gangsta rap don't make me wanna murder somebody," and its the same for women (and men) who listen to music like Saweeties'. Idk if y'all gonna talk about these topics y'all gotta know what you're talking about you can't just be generalizing because it comes off as sexist.
i think yall missed the point. the point is BALANCE. there's nothin wrong with wha they rap about, if thas them, cool! but a Noname for example isnt as big or recognized as a cardi. and for a lot of people, it isnt "just music" there are many fans who live by the words these artists speak.
