Glad I went in person. Not only a great racer but a true fan friendly guy. Meet everyone that was in line to meet him, unbelievable! Unbelievable super nice and very respectful ❣️
Knoxville is a different breed of cat. You have to time well or your weekend is likely over. Maybe he can come from the back there, but it would be even a greater miracle.
After watching this weekend, I’m feeling for Brock Zearfoss this year. Seems like every race he has something break, an engine blow, a wreck, or a tire blow that completely ruins his night
Chase, I love your coverage. Your analysis of these races has significant depth and is presently unequaled. You set quick time, and lead the pack when in comes to commentary on sprint car racing. FWIW, I'm 81 years old now and have been a sprint car fan since 1978 when I first saw young Kinser moving through traffic like a hot knife in butter at a race in Denver, Colorado. Steve and "uncle" Karl left the track that night in the front seat of a white pickup pulling the an open trailer with the rather plain all white No 11 on the top and a rack of wheels and tires at the front of the trailer. That's not how it is nowadays. Luckily I was able to talk to Steve and Karl on a few different occasions when they were racing in Denver. Kyle is not a Kinser clone, but they have the same DNA when it comes to winning.
If you're not subscribed please consider doing so. Always great video and always a new video to watch from Chase. Don't know why I posted this but there's always a new Sprint car video here. Thanks Chase for a very informative video. Kyle was simply amazing even though I was cheering for J-Mac.
Chase, do you have any commentary on tires and ignition boxes? Tires blow all too frequently and ignition boxes fail far to often. Also they are talking about the tail tanks flying off in crashes.
Kyle is very reminiscent of the young Kinser who moved through traffic with ease. Kyle has already eclipsed Kinser, by virtue of being so successful in many different types of cars and series. The bottom line is that Kyle is a damn good race car driver who has the will to win. When it comes to winged sprints only a certain type of personality can win consistently. Not to pick on Carson Mecedo, but when you compare the two, Carson frequently sets quick time, starts at the front, yet ends up losing in the last laps. Kyle is made of the stuff of Doug Wolfgang and Steve Kinser. As you point out, coming from the back in recent years has become nearly impossible.
Okay, I am PISSED, and this may get long...Many have called Larson a generational talent. My response used to be that that claim was shortsighted, and that it's more like a once-in-a-lifetime deal. I must now retract that sentiment and unequivocally state that Larson is without doubt the GOAT. In light of his accomplishments over the years (Indy midget week 2020 for instance), I fail to see how ANYONE could believe otherwise. You've got everyone from Stewart, Gordon, and Harvick (no slouches, themselves), to name but a few, saying it. The Hermanator, on yesterday's Coffee With Kenny, said that Foyt and Mario were always his heroes, but that Larson is in a league of his own simply because he wins in absolutely anything/everything he drives. Wins in 7 different disciplines at Eldora. Now what riles me the most are these racing "snobs", who want to believe that their favorite discipline is the best. Why?!? Like that Dirt on Dirt idiot saying how Larson gets to always race the best equipment. Well how do you think he does get in the best rides, dumba$$? by being a bozo? My own brother, who is the race director at Bedford Speedway, and saw Larson win his first Dirt Latemodel start in the LOLMDS at Port Royal in 2020, actually said he thought it was staged!!! So, would guys like Davenport and Sheppard actually agree to such a thing? Lay back and let him win? Even in the interest of promoting the sport? Then Larson goes to All Tech in 21 and wins by 15 seconds. Was that staged too? Me? I'm just a race fan. If it has wheels, and they race if on dirt, I love it. And if it has wheels, and they race it on dirt, Larson can win in it. Period. Sorry. End of rant.
In winged sprints there have been some very exceptional drivers who won consistently. What sets Kyle apart is that he has been successful in many different types of cars and series.
I have been to a lot of race tracks in my life. Been to Knoxville twice and every time it was follow the leader. Great event but wish it was on a better track. Cue the haters.

Great info about how historic Friday night really was. Was watchin live on Dirtvision and was absolutely shocked at that finish! Great job, Chase!
I wasn't shocked, but found it as inevitable as the final cadence on a Mozart Symphony.
Kyle Larson great race car driver all around.
+31 in two days, seriously WTF!!
Larson doing Larson things. Just like passing the field in 2023 NASCAR all star race

I'm thinking some sort of webbed belt bridle system needs to be developed to secure the tanks to the frame.

Kyle is a special talent. Shame his time is wasted on the lame Nascar stuff, but i get it thats where the money is.
I wonder if he will establish a legacy in Indy Cars, at least at the Indy 500?
