If someone could answer this for me please I am analyzing their release is the hand supposed to come off the side or front of the ball for the curve effect?
Robert Martinez It is called a "hook", and it is created by the rotation of your hand and wrist. When you release, your hand should generally be in a handshake position. Release your thumb first then your other two fingers, and it will generate revolutions which will cause your ball to hook. With practice you will learn to control it.
Ah okay thank you I have been trying to get the hook down but all this time I was throwing a curve ball I thought they were the same release but I guess the two are different
+Rolf Power no one uses the handshake ...like throwing a football underhand spiral anymore....look at the video...yeah hand rotates but the fingers come over top the ball...not around the side.
It looks like the hand is not behind the ball at the moment of release. The hand is on the top of the ball. It contradicts what I learned from the coach. Why?
Steve Song擇鄰地産 it can be difficult for women to keep their hands behind or underneath the ball. It takes a decent amount of wrist strength to maintain that position. This is why their rev rates are lower than the men's PBA members.
Thumb comes out First, Then the Fingers lift and the hand rotates around the ball. It is very quick but All elite bowlers do this. Except Belmo!! No thumb! LoL
@@wesleyricketts789 not to mention they are starting with the hand to far outside of the ball. If you keep the hand inside of the ball with the elbow in towards the body you get a more natural hand motion. That in turn allows you to keep the hand lower on the ball and create more revs.
Annoying music! And the concept of the "modern release is a myth." Every one of these bowlers has their thumb at 10-11 o'clock and their fingers around 4-5 o'clock when their thumb comes out of the ball. Just like in the old days.
Absolutely wonderful PWBA is back I've been watching and glad to see them able to compete on a regular basis.
best video on TH-cam
I could watch Danielle McEwan and Rocio Restrepo all day.

Jason Boeken No, I don't either. but it is a good starting point for someone who wants to learn to do it.
Robert Martinez What you do is stay behind ball as long as possible. Hand has no choice but to come around. Your fancy reactive resin does the rest.
Thumbs up for Diana Zavjalova !
Not inappropriate at all. They are looking good to me. It's great to see some athletic, not over fed, healthy looking bowlers in the USA.
