You're not counting for inflation. Sure they were cheaper, but we didn't make as much money back then either. See, people can cry about the min wage and we can raise it to $100/hr if we wanted, but that's not going to solve anything because then everything will go up in order to pay for the higher wages.... Everything used to be like half what it is now 20 years ago....
WWE Shop needs more of the old belts. WCW and ECW included. Maybe old NWA titles under the territories that WWE acquired over the years. That would make some serious money for the company.
I wanted the ECW belts back then. However, just entering high school deemed a car more important. What haunts me to this day is i could of bought all the ECW shirts ever made from a store in the mall that sold only wrestling shirts. Couldn't afford that either.

Even though those prices are way cheaper than today’s prices my mom was never able to afford one for me. My dad passed away when I was 10 so my mom worked 2 jobs to support me and my sister. So I always just pretended that my brown leather belt for my pants was the wwf belt or the wcw belt lol I wasn’t artistic enough to make one like some people but hey I had an imagination and my leather belt😂
No joke, last week i was looking at my room to see if i have the magazines from 2006 and 07 😂 and wanted to see the old store page. But man this video brings some memories back
The plates were really thin, and the WCW Big Gold was flat as a pancake. No curve at all until I bent it over my knee and put the curve in myself. Yes, the cost has gone up, but you're getting a much better quality belt these days.
WOW! Brother I remember seeing these on non WCW, ECW, WWE magazines back in the day. I remember when the first belt they sold was the Big Gold/WCW World Heavyweight title. And now looking at these 25 years later I wish I had these before WWE started selling there own. I know for a fact most of the WCW, ECW, and older WWE titles like the Light Heavyweight title has not been sold on WWE Shop. I wish that they did because the value of those belts are very, very high. Lots of times with no belt bag.

Both inflation and the quality of the title explain it. The plates have gotten thicker and better and the faux leather straps are way better now too.
