I bought the SG 1500 around 1980. It's still in great shape, although he original frets wore out quickly, and I had them replaced with steel. At 12.5 LB, be careful not to drop it on any body parts. I had a black toenail for almost a year!
Fantastic sounding guitar! I have a 1983 Yamaha sa1200s and it is so well built! I may be getting one of these in a trade soon. Hopefully, I'd love to compliment the sa1200s!!!
@@olimon63 Hi i wonder why Yamaha does not make a reissue. Moreover i see so many replicants of Les Paul that is annoying ... instead almost no one of this lovely guitar. I love also a thick body guitar a little like the big semiacoustics. Wonderful piece of art indeed. I envy you badly. Kind regards, gino
Hi @@gino3286. It seems that Yamaha went all for the Revstar (beautiful guitar too, I own one). As far as I know there is a reissue (SG1802, SG1820,...) but is hard to get one and very expensive indeed.
@@olimon63 Thanks for the info. I see prices around 3kUSD ... that is a lot. I understand they are hand made and that is the reason for the price. Quality is expensive. They have decided to keep it as exclusive model.
Nice playing beautiful guitars been trying to get mates of him for years won't let it go I've got a sf 700 great guitars but not as good the les paul killer

The SG is a tone machine. You should have let loose on that sucker.
To right 👍

As good as a Gibson Les Paul,🎶🎼
It was known as the "Les Paul Killer." It's also a shoulder killer!
