Last year I loved the peppermint sticks you had in a box & put out everywhere. So I swagged my staircase, hanging bronze baskets at all the bow points & filled with the peppermint sticks!! It was glorious ….. until the next morning. I am in CA zone 9b & I was greeted first thing in the morning, on the stairway & down the stairs & all over the bannister with zillions of ANTS!! Here, where it doesn’t ever get really cold, our candies need to stay wrapped!🤣🐜. But it did look gorgeous before the invasion of ants!

Hi Linda hope you don’t mind my chipping in but thought you’d like to know that historically ‘nosegays’ were made from scented botanicals to mask unpleased odours....’tussie mussies were Victorian mini poses given to loved ones which included flowers with a hidden meaning....there is a whole area known as ‘the language of flowers’...which is very interesting and worth a look at....😊

Linda, you always steal the show 🤩. I am 75 and so enjoy you. Silver tussle mussies were used to insert the arrangement so the ladies hands/gloves would not be soiled.

Hey Linda ...not to add to any extra" "to the decor fun" but Luminaries down the sidewak would be fun....NO stress... paper lunch bags - white or brown left plain or dressed up with stencil / cut-out, etc. with sand and candles in jars ...We do this during the holidays and it's very showy!!! Have fun!

We make individual overnight oats in small jars. Lots of recipes online, many using honey as a sweetener.. Fabulous show!!!

Hi from Annie such a great time to decorate and let the imagination go wild It is a lot of fun even if no one is coming for xmas, still do it for yourself as I have to, I am a big kid at heart. It is a good way to keep busy and you can always give many decorations away to others and donate to charities etc

My mom made Tussie Mussies in the late 70’s early 80’s. They were made with lace and dried hydrangea and then dried flowers were hot glued in.
(Lots of burned finger’s). Bows were added and a drop of essential oils. She shipped these all over.

I am definitely old enough to know what a tussy mussy is, and have heard the term for years. When you put the greenery sprig up to your shirt... it reminded me that , back in the day the brooch was actually a sterling silver little cone with a pin to attach to your blouse that you put a little water soaked tussy mussy in to keep it fresh . When I hear someone using candy as decor, I think , am I the only one who worries about waking up to a mantel of ants!!!! A little red and white bakers twine and a jingle bell to tie on the boxed candy sticks would be simple and budget friendly. I get both at the Dollar Store. I actually get the soft peppermint sticks there too! Taylors menu sounds amazing! Christmas morning tamales... yes, please!!!!

Tussie mussies are aka nosegays. My very petite maid of honor carried sweetheart roses in a nosegay back in the mid 70’s. Definitely it did not overpower her. Love that Linda brings back terms not commonly used (potager too!)

Amazon , they come in a 3 pack for 15.00 . I ordered some , very high quality . My only dislike , they are very very heavy and I have trouble keeping them on when leaning over or to keep on top of my head . Great for in bed reading and block harmful blue light from devices !

Linda lives in a suburb of Oklahoma City Oklahoma USA it’s windy there. They get cold snowy winters and freezing storms. In summer very hot in the 100’s they have four seasons and get to enjoy them all.

Am I the only person who thinks Linda’s cottage has become too cluttered? I can’t imagine keeping everything dust free😢
I show things in process. Clutter and all…so yes! I agree it often looks too clutteted. Funny, someone else just mentioned they thought that it looked too sparse compared to my other home. The important thing is that we all live the way we want to live, cluttered or sparse lol!
I would have loved to finish watching and learn something,but it became confusing when Linda jumps in every time Betsy tried to demonstrate something, so I just gave up watching.
