- wow, its been six years since my last nadalind video that i made right after the series finale (god how i miss this show)! i just recently rewatched the entire thing and fell right back in love with the world and all of its amazing characters, especially these two. their journey really is the stuff that fanfic is made of with the enemies to co-parents to lovers of it all. if you've never watched grimm, i highly recommend it because the lore, the characters and the world building are all just that good. this vid is kind of all over the place but in my head i was telling their story, so i hope that comes across and that i did it justice (*insert old school heart emoticon here but apparently i'm not allowed to use less than symbols anymore*)
also, if you're already a grimm fan or looking to get into it, i recommend checking out the grimmcast podcast that the three lead actresses from the show are doing. i've listened to a couple and its so fun to hear them talk about the show and their love for it and get some details about what it was like on set.

Adalind and Nick are still one of the most compelling couples in TV. The way they were written it just felt like to people who endured so much trauma and needed each other to heal. Nick made Adalind feel like a good person, he gave her a chance to show she truly cared. Once Adalind found something worth fighting for, she never looked back. Unlike Juliette, Nick was enough for Adalind, the life they were building together, that's all Adalind needed to be happy. Juliette was never happy, she always wanted something more.
For Nick, he just needed someone to love all of him. Adalind loved both sides, the Grimm and the man. Nick trusted Adalind for some reason, he knew, she wasn't going to betray him.
i love what you said, that adalind saw and loved each side of him because i totally agree, nick and juliette worked right up until he became a grimm and the life that came along with that was never something juliette signed up for. she was our tether to who nick was before the grimm world invaded his life but she was never as comfortable with the changes as even hank was. and then on the other side of that, eve only saw the grimm. adalind saw and loved both
@bookdork1 that was exactly my thought process when I made the comment. I hate that they got rid of so many Nick and Adalind scenes, but I still consider most of those deleted scenes as cannon. In those we see that Adalind felt like she was enough when she was with Nick. Prior to him, she only felt safe when she had something to offer. But with Nick, she felt like she was enough. We see how different she was even when she had to go back to Renard for a time. Her confidence was sky high. She knew she mattered to someone, that she didn't need to use magic or sex to gain loyalty, cause she was enough.
Unlike Juliette, Adalind didn't judge Nick or make him feel like he had to walk on egg shells to keep her happy. I think in those deleted scenes we got to see Nick enjoy domestic life cause Adalind was a partner for real. I wish they had explored her change more. Discussed that foldout feeling secure helped Adalind relax lol
