Circus strong lady Charmaine Childs has spent almost twenty years touring the planet and performing feats of strength.
In Power, she uses circus physicality and verbal storytelling to explore how we can feel powerful in an uncertain world and find strength beyond simply lifting heavy things.
In this optimistic, funny, physical and moving piece, autobiography intersects with real stories from around the UK about moments people felt powerful, with their voices woven through the soundtrack to reveal experiences of strength, resilience, connection, choice and change.

I saw the Strong Woman Show at Jacksons Lane on Saturday and was blown away by how by how rounded and punchy the performance was. As a one woman show it was fast, pacy and yet didn't miss any content or background story as to where /how Charmaine the circus strong lady evolved .
It provided a full entertainment and the audience were inducted early on as to when it was safe to cheer and applaud so as not to break Charmaines concentration when performing acrobatic feats of balance combined with weight lifting.
The show held intrigue and moments of anticipation that made it thrilling to watch
The whole show was BSL interpreted and I must congratulate the interpretor for keeping up with the action and story line
A truly innovative and enjoyable show
