I was a little boy watching Bruce and all the greats of the era at Mosport Raceway. My Father took my brother and I to Mosport for every big race. I still manage to get there with my son once in awhile.
My cat is named Bruce after this legend. I’ve met his daughter who is a sweetheart. This track is currently named Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, I like Mosport better.
"And you'll see a lot of cars come in with the front wheels push straight ahead a little bit then they'll come out in the classic sort of sportscar powerslide - looks quite good in fact." Quite a lot of attention to detail. Shame he went so early as the man certainly had the nous. Professorial indeed.
I can't start to imagine how many times I saw Bruce execute every corner of this course to perfection. I can see him as if it were yesterday. We only wish.
@@fabianrocha9924 Bruce wanted to say that his McLaren, due to the incredible amount of power the Can-American series cars had (7-liters or over monsters), when he upshifted in the main straight of Mosport, the torque was still so strong that the rear wheels kept on spinning, even in 4th gear!
Well, considering the amount of power and more than all, torque, of these 7-liters monsters, I would not be so amazed if they kept wheelspinning even in the final gear.
Not sure what year they didn’t start at 7 litres but ended up over 8 litres . Those engines were using Aluminium Blocks supplied by Reynolds. Denny Hulme said that they were his favourite cars ever & he drove some great cars. He also mentioned that if running close to the other McLaren he had to leave space because the front wheels on the second car would lift off the ground . Unfortunately the Turbocharged Porsche was just too dominant & the Can Am series withered away.
Mosport would be absolutely ruined if F1 came back to it. It would be way too unsafe as is and they would kill it with tighter corners and acres of paved runoff.
Canada really has to dump the montreal local and come back to its roots on this amazing feels like a mini spa or green hell just needs to be be upgraded a bit and we would have a way better track
Mosport was an awful track for a GP. I remember 6 hours too get out after a race, no facilities, pits never updated from the 60s. It's a hobbyist track, but very few series will race there any more.
Everything I've read indicates that Bruce was a brilliantly clever man of great good humour, a superb driver and a complete gentleman.

Thank you Bruce, very technical explanation for a dangerous, beautiful and too fast track.
Prost was not a professor this Guy Was.

You were so lucky to experience Mosport back then. I started attending races in the 90s - I was born in the wrong era!!
What year was that?
I love listening to racing drivers talk about tracks
Is it just me or does Bruce sound like exactly a young Murray Walker here?
Did he really say "wheelspin through...4th gear" ?!
Since I dont know much about it... What does that mean?

I'd be scared to drive that track in a golf cart
What he doesn't say is that corner two is negative camber all the way through, as well as 3. I drove the track once. Once.

@Krishang SHARMA almost fatal he didn't die at the time and raced after 3 weeks
F1 will never come back to Mosport.
Great track....
@beemoyo its in bowmanville Ontario Canada to be exact
Great video ! Thank you.
Our founder, Team McLaren.
There were 2 McLarens there this past weekend at the Ontario Time Attack series. Entry is free.
I don't know very well Mosport;but Bruce was Legend
LOL my thoughts exactly. That is some balls right there.
good stuff, thanks.
@FReLaXB - yes, that is the legend himself..... Bruce McLaren
@qytasho Must have been 1966, according to McLaren driving the #4 M1B.
A tricky road course!
4 wheel drift through #2?? wow! i'd chit my pants!!
I wonder what year this was filmed in??
Obviously before 1970. I would say 1967 or 68.

@Rook6666 If Bruce Mclaren said that about a Can-Am car...I would belive him. That was the pinacle of brute power.
We can have two gp in canada.
@HalSka8 no way, Jeff Andretti,lol.
Is he describing Mosport in Canada?
There is only one Mosport.
@@truantray I was 14 when I asked that .
@@beemoyo 🤣
@ArtificialRed1083 lmao..Zing!
well this is Mosport. And I'm Bruce McLaren.
thats kiwis in a nutshell...
he shouldve just been bruce wayne
circiut it s very beatiful . fun to drive ,i do not think it will ever back in f1 calendar beacuse it is unsafe and outdated.
With todays cars it should be safe enough.
maybe, but circiut is very fast and dangerous.
***** Not dangerous with modern F1 cars.
there are no run-offs, dangerous but all the bends are interesting, not like Tilke tracks.
yes mospot park is beatiful circiut but too dangerous, tilkedroms boring circiuts.
who the fuck down voted this?
