Another great vid hope we can see its progress. @padmapriya I know what you mean by trees, we used to cut many trees here in south africa. We had to say no to certain trees of certain ages eg old fruit trees they used to hammer nails into the trunks. Even rocks or half bricks in crutches that had been grown over.

The main reason to apply milliput is because sometimes a cut wound have a deeper hard wood surface than the cambium circle. So we apply milliput to filled that semi-hollow surface so the cambium can to grow on top of it.
But here you have a cut wound which the hard wood was not too deep at all, so the milliput was not needed. You can just skip to the second step in this video where you give a little cut inside the cambium circle to promote new cambium growth on the original surface of it's hard wood. I don't see any point to carved a perfectly fine hardwood surface to make it deeper just to apply milliput.

Been using this method for the last year or so, but I also cover wounds with adhesive-backed aluminum tape, instead of good old wound putty. The advantage of the tape is that it's a lot easier to apply over large wounds and can be re-used following future scarification. Nice concise video.

Your video and approach is great appreciated.
Two questions: why not originally cut the branch flush so the cambium would have an easy surface to work over? Since the cut branch was there why not cut the dead branch flush instead of digging out a bowl shape and then having to fill it?

Nice video. Thanks . I’ve wondered if a pruning cut that was rounded over heals better than a cut that leaves a edge on the side with a corned shape for the calluses to climb over. Also leaving a more natural repair. Karl

Nice Padma! shouldn't you keep the cambium covered also with cutpaste to keep it moist? the idea behind this is that once the cambium dries out on the sides, it grows less quicker, or even stops... 🌳🌳✌️🌸grtz

Hola , según creo eso se usa para tapar agujeros más profundos y disimularlos, pero una solución que yo veo, incluso más interesante sería con una makita ,el intentar hacer hay un agujero bonito, no sé si me e explicado bien

“Milliput is the 2 part, easy-to-use epoxy putty that molds like clay and cures to the hardness of porcelain. Use for scratch building, sculpting, repairing, gap filling, pattern making and customizing. Ideal for military miniatures, ship model parts, dolls, dollhouse accessories, plastic models and thousands of other items. Roll it as thin as 1/64 inch for making super detailed scale parts . Can be sawn, drilled, filed, sanded and painted when cured. Smooth with a wet finger and cleans up with water before it cures. Fully cured in 5 hours without heat or sooner with a hair dryer. The choice of master model makers throughout the world. Yellow-grey, standard grain, 4 oz.”
