Jail and prison here is a trip. There is still a lot of street code living here in the old timers Irish Black Puerto Rican Italian Cape Verde. I mean old school vibes.
Boston is like NewYork the only difference is Boston cuts off places that NewYork would consider territory. Boston doesn’t take the statistics from Lynn Malden Everett Quincy Braintree Melrose Chelsea Brookline Brockton etc New York would consider these parts apart of the main city that’s why NewYork is technically much bigger than Boston. Plus Boston crime isn’t always shenanigans there is a heavy police presence so when something happens a lot of times it’s calculated not random. Boston main parts of roxbury Dorchester Mattapan Roslindale Hyde park and technically Brighton and East Boston are heavy with police which is why a crime in Boston is like a double risk other cities don’t even understand. facts... sadly, it's a privilege thing... people with all this money and absolutely no real danger around them growing up, especially people from the white communities, think this type of a shit is a tourist attraction/lense into the life of the less fortunate when it's really just a bad decision. It's no different than sky diving or running with bulls to some. They have no thrills or situations in their lives that give them that adrenaline/fight or flight feeling that some people are drawn to chasing.
It's not a warzone. People eat at backwoods all the time. The suburb I live in. Is a 5 mile sq. And as of last month we had 157 homicides. Yet one of the best Jamaican joints is right in the center. I eat there all the time. Just stay in your lane. You'll be ok.
@@frogmanpipes9561 you ain't get no 157 murders in just one month and especially with just 5 miles of residence. Because how are you literally typing right now then. @8:10 From what I understand about human nature, social science and statistical evidence, poverty drives the violence we see in rap beefs and depicted in rap lyrics not the other way around. Violent rap lyrics, rap beefs, and the violent culture associated with them are symptoms of poverty not the cause of said symptoms. Meaning, it doesn’t really matter if you have well documented rap beefs receiving media coverage or not, if you have widespread systemic poverty, people stuck in the violence therein (structural poverty is itself violent), and on the other end of the spectrum people benefiting from the structures enabling this, you’re gonna have violence. Symptoms of poverty such as violence and cultures of violence are not the causes of said violence.
Poverty doesn't cause this level of violence lack of respect for humans and society caus3s this. Why don't we see this level of gang violence in Lagos Accra Nairobi Kinshasa in non western African cities. This type of gang shit only happens to blacks in the west.
@@danf7411 You're making my point for me. You know what also causes lack of respect for human life? The brain damage that comes from structural poverty and the systemic violence that comes with it, especially the gun violence unique to the US. University Psychiatric Scientist Joan Luby and others in her field have repeatedly found that structural poverty and traumatic violence cause accelerated aging, brain damage, and other profound physiological changes on the cellular level as early as in the womb (in cases where the mother is subjected to poverty and trauma). This type of brain damage leads to the type of violence we observe and the inability to properly respect human life. Also the places you mentioned have less gun violence because they have less access to guns. You force a bunch of people into the violence of structural poverty then put guns everywhere and you get what we see here in the states.

The Franklin field vs Franklin Hill beef was big too. So many. And most of them have music. Just fredo and kal got the most recognition.
@ShizzAm that's because a lot of people commenting on this are just current day popular music fans and don't know what columbia point is. The point is HUNDREDS deep and many generations. The original point was demolished in the late 80s. Some of yall are at the new buildings, some of yall moved to dorchester/ roxbury/ mattapan, or even Brockton or fall river, and a lot of yall are dead or in prison. The new point complex is split up between section 8 and market rate housing. But ya, you're still right. The point is on par with the Cabrini green story. That complex was MASSIVE. Police wouldn't even go there. Trash collection refused to go there at one point cause it was so bad. There are still some gangland channels that have stories about columbia point on youtube.

I was born in the bean but lived in NB. Recently I moved out MA to CT for better life but you know something people are the same every where.
Boston is so different. You got too many ethnicities and shades of to even know who is who. And the people here are brutal. You got a serious street culture that is so crazy.
Boston is city where something can happen fast and it’s a high possibility of jail time afterwards.
Good way to put it

facts... sadly, it's a privilege thing... people with all this money and absolutely no real danger around them growing up, especially people from the white communities, think this type of a shit is a tourist attraction/lense into the life of the less fortunate when it's really just a bad decision. It's no different than sky diving or running with bulls to some. They have no thrills or situations in their lives that give them that adrenaline/fight or flight feeling that some people are drawn to chasing.
@@nrgao lol you just making stuff up you don’t know Adam
It's not a warzone. People eat at backwoods all the time. The suburb I live in. Is a 5 mile sq. And as of last month we had 157 homicides. Yet one of the best Jamaican joints is right in the center. I eat there all the time. Just stay in your lane. You'll be ok.
@@frogmanpipes9561 you ain't get no 157 murders in just one month and especially with just 5 miles of residence. Because how are you literally typing right now then. Because there would be like at the most 50-70 people living in that whole radius and so literally not one single person in that whole real estate would be left and everyone would be gone like Hero Sheema came through and then the gunman would of had to have to off themselves too.
Typical dumb asz suburb kid “I went there and ate pizza “

Hoods in Boston is just as official as hoods everywhere 💯 … they don’t shine any light on “that part” of Boston.. Jake did his best with trying to give you an understanding of the streets out here but like he said he moved here… needing to be involved in beef to get smacked is false…RIP to plenty of innocent bystanders over the years … you need to interview someone from the soil and do your research this shit been wicked out here…last couple weeks someone getting smacked out here damn near everyday… and all the “hood” shit in Boston is confined to a small section of the city … the rest of the city is the white ppl shit y’all know bout .. Red Sox and Celtics nation and all that bullshit lol
Facts its like 5-6 neighborhoods around each other thats why it seems crazy shit pretty close
Yes exactly they purposely don't report it and sweep it under the rug and so literally nobody knows about what goes on unless you actually live there. They purposely hide everything all these decades because it's bad for business and the tourism and especially all the colleges. Same thing they do here in Orlando. Because of tourism and especially all of the theme parks.

Thankful for the safety your dad took for you and yeah that seems tough. Gotta keep balling 🏀
I grew up in a tiny town with under 1000 population, but shit was like a gang war every night. Gun shots, murders, deaths. I saw my first body at 7 years old, dude was propped against a street sign with a cig in his lips trying to make him look alive but he had a bullet hole in his neck and a jacket thrown over him to hide the blood. I saw three homeless men arguing and two proceeded to stab to death the other whom they claimed stole from them. A kid I went to school with thought he was a jackboy until he tried a robbery where he blew his own foot off with a sawed off 12 gauge trying to pull it out his waistband. I saw and heard so much shit living there and none of it ever made the papers or news channels. Ever.

the other thing about Boston and or surrounding areas that ppl dont really realize coming from me being a MA native growin up in MA i feel like is that they dont publicize the hood shit and killin that goes on in or around boston as much cuz they want the state to look good/better than it really is. they hide shit real well for the most part...

Maybe because he wants to speak on everything but his city which is kind of hypocritical if you reporting it all
Facts
I'm from Boston Mass I lived in Dot from dot too Roslindale now Murder Pan Morton street been here 10 years now on this side
Boston isnt as violent per capita compared to chicago, Philly, Baltimore, Milwaukee, Atlanta etc or even Hartford or New Haven, but like any major city in America its got some very sketchy and rough neighbourhoods!
Boston is also 48 sq mi so barely any of the shi happen in the city way more likely to be outside city limits
I'm guessing because he might see some them and get killed
was always curious about this shit and why he never spoke on it cuz im from western MA and few stories made there way over here about that whole situation

There’s more deadly beefs then Nob and Cameron street in Boston… Heath street and Mission Hill, Morse street and Lucerne, that one was just the most covered by the media since they both got hit with Rico’s.
Ya. The beef between Heathe street, mission, and h block has been going on since the 80s. It's on the fbi list of dangerous gangs, with the hats they wear and shit. The Franklin field vs Franklin Hill beef was big too.
So many. And most of them have music. Just fredo and kal got the most recognition.
Niggas act like The Point don’t run Boston 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ we’ve stepped on everyone
