Explanation of Experiment:
The mirror forms when a thin film of metallic silver deposits on the inner surface of the flask. When an aldehyde is combined with an ammonia complex of silver in a basic aqueous solution, the aldehyde slowly reduces the complex to silver metal.

Actually the same experiment is done in class 12 in chemistry lab to check the presence of aldehyde with the help of 2,4-DNP solution and tollens reagent also known as silver mirror test and basically the glucose contains CHO (ALDEHYDE) it reacts with tollens reagent and forms silver mirror

Identification of Aldehyde/ Silver mirror test- Tollens Reagent[Ag(NH3)2]
On reaction of Tollens Reagent with aldehyde it Converts Aldehyde into Carboxylic acid salt and self get reduced & hence show silver appearance..
