    I really like the GC. I use the .76 for the first pass and the .68 for the second pass.

    I tried a friend's .84-P and found it a little too aggressive for me. I ended up buying the .76-P and really enjoy it.

      @mr_zb18 all that matters is you found what you like & your friend let you try his for free. You won twice in my book!

    Thank you for your informative videos. I was thinking which Game changer I should get, but after seeing your video I think I stick with my Parker Variant adjustable. Thank you for your videos again and keep up the good work. Cheers

    How do you think a game changer compares to the timeless aluminum slant? Which is more efficient?

  • @konap7
    @konap7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Nice comparison! I really like your head-to-head videos, they are always informative. How does the GS Bayonetta compare to the GC .84 in terms of comfort, efficiency and ease of use (angle etc)?

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @konap7 glad you are enjoying the content. I personally found the GC 84 just too mild to get bbs for me. The bayonetta is more efficient but also more blade feel and more aggressive.
      However I recently tried a filoso blade in the bayonetta and it’s great how. Takes that dangerous edge down a bit so it don’t feel like it wants to bite me so easily. Vs the GC 84 I tried my sharpest blades and it’s closed to BBS but just doesn’t get it for me personally.
      The GC 84 is smoother and more forgiving. I find both razors easy to find the ideal cutting angle. The bayonetta u can smooth out by riding the top cap more. The GC seems to feel the same regardless of angle input.
      I’m debating selling my GC but I only have the .68 plate. The .84 plate was a loan.

      @Stubblemeetssteel
      Well I shave every 3-4 days usually due to my slow beard growth. I saw on the RazoRock home page that the .84 GC is ranked right under the Hawk V3 standard, which is really mild imo.
      I really enjoy both the Overlander and the Blackbird and was basically wondering if there is anything that is more efficient than the Overlander but less prone to irritate than the BB.
      Many have pointed out the two razors I mentioned as a more efficient alternative to the Overlander.
      What's your input?

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@konap7I have not tried the blackbird so hard to comment there. I found the v2 hawk a tad aggressive for how efficient it is. I couldn’t see finding the v3 mild. The shield AC I find smoother then the hawk v2 and more efficient as well for single edge.
      For me the GC 84 is not as efficient as the overlander. The Overlander gets me much better bbs than the 84 did with any blade I tried.
      For me the bayonetta is more efficient then the GC 84. I would suggest the bayonetta or muhle rocca for medium aggressive razors that are still smooth. If you can handle the v3 hawk you should have no problem with those 2 razors.

      Really appreciate your input here. It's been a good while since I used the Hawk V3 standard plate. But I shaved with the A plate recently and I could buff quite a bit with it, no problem

    If someone send you the Dscosmetic D8 could you make a comparison with the Game Changer 0.86?
    While the Dscosmetic have a gap of 0.68 the blade is more exposed so maybe its performance could be similar.
    Also,at that point, could you see even if you can use the top cap of the dscosmetic with the Razorock plate?

      Someone has already tried it on the Badger & Blade forums, they are completely compatible.

      @nonsolorasatura9093 i assume when you said compare to the gamechanger .86 you meant the .68?
      Yes if someone wants to send me any razor I will try it 🤣. I don’t have the .84 plate anymore. I sent it back to the person who loaned it to me. I still have my .68 baseplate/top cap etc

      @@Stubblemeetssteel No,I mean the .086 since was on the video despite the 0.76 maybe even better.
      But since wasn't yours,it is ok the 0.68 too.
      I guess the Dscosmetic would be more efficient regardless that they have the same gap.

    This is proof of how subjective this hobby is. I personally find the GC .84P more efficient than the Apex 70mm but with more blade feel. Not saying your impressions are not true obviously, it's just so random how different people feel about all these razors and blades.

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @sagurosmart4100 that is very interesting! 🧐 I was pretty shocked the .84 was still not efficient enough for me to easily get bbs. Just some magic about that apex .70 for me. Especially the apex AL. That razor impresses me every shave.

      I could be totally wrong since these razors work quite differently depending on your beard etc but I wonder if you just need more shaves with the GC 84 to really get the best out of it. I'm not saying it's a difficult razor to shave with, far from but I feel like it's one of those where once you find the best angle with a very sharp blade, it jumps in efficiency a bit.
      At least for me I did not get the best efficiency out of the GC 84 right away, I used to shave neutral with gillette silver blue but once I bumped to feathers / Nacets and a shallower angle I started getting a bump in efficiency. Try your sharpest blade and a shallower angle (don't hesitate to ride the cap almost like people do with the blackbird). I'm curious to hear if this ends up working better for you. Who knows maybe it won't and the GC is just not a good fit for you. Let me know.

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@saguarosmart4100the .84 plate was a loan from a friend & I sent it back. You could be right maybe with more time using it I could find its sweet spot more. Using 2 shims to make a 1.04 poor man’s setting worked and got me bbs! Although I felt it for rougher and the muhle rocca seems smoother then the 1.04.
      For now the GC sits in the maybe sell maybe give away, maybe buy another OC or 1.05 plate for it pile 😂

  • @slythfmst
    @slythfmst 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Where did u place the shim? under or over

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @slythfmst shim goes under blade to increase efficiency. Lifts the blade up higher from the base plate creating a larger gap between the blade and the safety bar. Or so goes the theory.
      I’ve heard putting on top of the blade helps tames a razor but I can’t wrap my head around how that could be. I haven’t tried it though.

      @@Stubblemeetssteel Thanks for the info dude. I do enjoy your video. Have you tried your apex AL with a stainless handle like you did with the lupo AL? if so what was the results?

    • @Stubblemeetssteel
      @Stubblemeetssteel  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @slythfmst I have not tried that yet. I don’t find the extra weight makes a huge difference in the shave. It’s more ergonomics and handle preferences vs shave performance.
