Being a first time sewer and trying to learn how to sew is very intimidating. I've watched so many tutorials on patterns I've bought but they're not very good on explaining and showing steps. This tutorial thus far gives me the the step by step instructions that make sense and are actually helpful. Thank you so much for taking the time to show us how it's done. I"m so glad I found your channel. I hope to keep learning from you. I hope my dress comes out a fabulous as yours. :)
It will, I made a wearable muslin for this dress. So when I got my nice fabric I already had practice so the 2nd go around it went together rather quickly. Take your time sewing and enjoy the process. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to help.
Hi Cheri, If you look at that back bodice piece...I folded my pattern piece where it says "cut on fold" so instead of cutting the entire piece on the fold, I folded the pattern piece 2 inches (I could have just cut it too, straight down the middle) and that is my new center back. When I did this I completely eliminated the top gather aka pleat and decreased the bottom one by quite a bit. let me know if that helps.
@@MassonLifestyle thanks soooo much I better understand it now. I have this pattern & I was shying away from it based on reviews & figuring out fit & dealing with button holes
@@cheri101099 it’s a great pattern. I suggest you grab some muslin or perhaps some inexpensive fabric and test it out like I did first. Check on the fit, by the time you cut into your nice fabric you know what things to adjust without thinking about it twice.
