Interesting you mentioned a lot of people watching from New Zealand as I am. I think it's because we miss the good old British curry house. Good ones are far & few between here, not that there aren't some. So it's DIY & it's great to watch you Al, you make it so straight forward 👍 thanks.
Fellow expat Kiwi checking in. Have to give a shoutout to Bombay Palace in Frankton / Queenstown because it's pretty good but I do cook all my own curries now thanks to Al's Kitchen!
I have been following your channel for a few weeks now and have made some brilliant curries. I decided to buy your spices from Spicey Joes, but have had a really bad experience with them, So I will just have to crack on and make my own spice mixes using your methods.
Hi Al. I have very recently found your channel. I am based in Birmingham UK. The home they tell me of the Balti belt? I have enjoyed Indian food all my life & now thanks to your guidance I may have finally found how I can finally make them fo myself. No more takeaways for me. Just a big thank you Al keep it up, mate. Cheers. I am in my 7th decade & struggling with the hotness these days. So just easy on the chilli powder etc I guess.
After using the traditional cooking method for 50 years I just had to try your BIR system. Now, I go straight to your video and bingo....it works magnificently. BIR standard in 30-40 minutes. So easy to follow and idiot proof instructions. Mark, Crete.😀

Luckily there are Indian stores around so that I can buy spices cheap and not have to pay outrageous prices at the super marked for a tiny amount. I like your little burner, and would be interested to see a video on it and about your gas supply and utensils. Keep doing what you do, it is well appreciated.

Great guide for us craving the taste of home BIR. Greetings from Newfoundland, (originally from West Yorkshire), and as it’s-17 today, what better than a nice warming curry. Thanks for the inspiration.

Watching from aldershot! Been making curries for a few years and only stumbled along your base gracy recipes a few months ago, but I’m finally happy with the taste of my curries now!! Thank you!
New Zealand here again Bro! I'm not surprised you get so many enquiries from over here. I am now cooking curries from using not just your spice Mix, (the best), but other recipes too.
Watching from Teignmouth in Devon. Thanks for the videos. I used to make curries from scratch until life got in the way and I didn't have time. I'll be starting again shortly and will definitely be using your recipes.
Hey Al. Watching in my Kitchen in Korora Bay NSW Australia. Have only just found all your videos and love them. Making me miss home! Im going to make this mix today and then make your Korma! Cheers Al.

Detroit, Michigan. USA. Thanks. In your recipes does it show us when use this powder. SO, is the what you use for curry powder when making all of your curries? I just want to know WHEN to use this. Thanks so much!!
Hi Al - NZ again. We never had the BIR tradition here so I see why the British ex-pats miss it. I think most of our Indian restaurants are run by people straight from India, but we also used to have a cuisine from Fijian Indians which is quite different from anything I tasted in India. I love your recipes - very easy and tasty.
Ive cooked a few of your curries now from the 30 minute series. All turned out lovely. your method has made curry cooking much easier with better results. I have just bought the cooking pot you recommend to make the cooking process better and less messy. I also want to create your bassar mix but could i ask how you store all your spices. do you have a preferred storage system for all the bags of spices you buy?
Great vidro Al, many thanks, as always. Quick question? Ho would you use this mix, would you just use it with your base sauce instead of mixing up spices????
Of course, I made my best mate and his wife your Pathia last night and he sent me a message saying it was in his top 5 of curries he’s ever eaten my girlfriend had a Pathia I had a balti all top draw thanks to you old pal
I’ve just come across your channel Al,I’ve always loved curry but could never replicate a restaurant taste,I’m off out now to but all new fresh spices and getting going making the base gravy, your curries look terrific, cheers Al👍
Today I made most of the basic prep. Made your mix Al and your jalfrezi. The only thing I miscalculated was the potency of green chili. I did a cheat base gravy so next thing is the real thing. It was so much fun! Thanks for your inspiration

Al, loving your work mate. And a fellow Red too 😍👌 Dabbled in Misty and Latif recipes, but yours are bulletproof. Made chicken chilli last week and OMG. Making it again this weekend. Just seal properly and last for ages yeah? Matt
Just watched this and thanks Al for this. Gonna get the son in London to get this and bring home. Sometimes I order things and as stuck in the wilds of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland my deliveries go astray!

Hello Al ! I have just discovered your channel and I can't wait to start cooking your delicious curries ! I have always enjoyed a curry but I have normally just used a jar of Thai Red Curry (my favourite) paste from Asda. I'm a late starter (I'm 59) to home made curries and I hope your recipes will taste as good as the ones in Indian restaurants. I'm in Birkenhead (over the Mersey from Liverpool) Don't ask me if I support Liverpool or Everton - I don't like football ! 🙂

Hi Al. I've been using a different mix for a long time in your recipe's, but you will only find it in Pakistani shops. It's truly amazing but does require further adjustments to additional spices added as it contains most of them! Around £4.20 for 800g.
