Great reaction, thanks for listening to "old times" music.
Welcome to the Queen's world! There are may more songs you have already heared without the knowledge that was Queen.
Queen is the most versatile rock band, they wrote their own stuff in several genres from rock to jazz, to pop, etc. about 200 songs. Freddie never took singing lessons, but his powerful and emotional performances are still legendary.
Pls, check out the Dragon Attack at Montreal 81.

Back in the 70's and 80's this is what we listened to. Any band that was good had people who knew how to write songs, sing songs, and play music.
These guys were studying for other careers when they formed the band.
John Deacon, bass player has a degree in electronics.
Roger Taylor, drummer, has a degree in biology and was studying to become a dentist.
Freddie Mercury, lead singer, had a degree in graphic design.
Brian May, lead guitar, after a 30 year hiatus, finished his studies to get a doctorate in astrophysics and has consulted on a project with NASA.
As for the clothes, they were in style 40+ years ago.

Who wouldn't love this song? The energy, the musicianship, the vocals, the production. This is outstanding. A queen song you must do if you want to really hear the musicianship and the tone of Freddie's voice is White Queen, LIVE at Odeon, Hammersmith 1975. It is my favorite live performance by any band, ever. It is mind blowing. There is a 1 minute 45 second instrumental portion that is unbelievable that it could possibly be live. This band was dripping with talent, there has been no one like them before or since. Thank you for a great reaction.

This IS the best band! - all four of them are composers/songwriters with more than one #1 hit on the charts and all inducted in Songwriters hall of Fame - .Freddie is considered the best singer of all times. They were very versatile - had different tastes and quarreled a lot in the studio - they were all very strong personalities - but they found results that suited them and stayed together til Freddie died in 1992, They had the been together more than 20 years . Brian made his own guitar in his teens with his father. It has special funktions that makes it possible for him to sing - sound like an orchestra, scream or have a very mellow tone - due to his skills!. It is always with him - and he plays it every day. He has played it 90 % of his performances for aproximately 55 years - and never had it repaired . It is a "she" and is called the "Red Special". Scientists have concluded that this song is the happiest ever written.

Brian May's guitar is unique. Called the Red Special, he built it in the 1960's when he was a teen with his dad out of an old fireplace mantlepiece as he couldn't afford to buy a guitar. It's now one of the most famous guitars in the world and probably priceless. He also uses an old 6 pence coin as a pick. It has a unique sound that is extremely difficult to replicate with total accuracy. Replicas have been made that he plays, but the original is still used.

I agree totally with You re Todays music ... "Jabady - jabbady ... ". I'm sorry - and I hope I don't offendy You - but I feel much of the blame is on the enormous wide spread Rap music. There's no Melody really, very few harmonies and chords, also a simple and very monotonous pounding rhythm. To sum up - not much Music in it at all. Even in my country Sweden, the Land of ABBA as You know, (and like - Thank You!), Rap is very big - I think itś actually the most listened to music genre of all. Unbelievable, and Sad when You compare it to old bands like Queen for instance - or ABBA:s genious melodies and harmonies, not to mention The Beatles, My God ...
Just do Yourself a favour if Your New to Beatles: Listen to their album "A Hard Day's Night" from 1964. From the energic and dramatic opening song, (with the same name as he Album), all through the LP its MUSIC, MELODIES, HARMONIES; RHYTHMS and Youthful Energy in all songs. Not much of the same elements, if anything, is heard in Todays popular music. But then again I've been a Beatles fan since I saw them live on Swedish Black and White TV 1963. That made me into a Guitarist for life. I'm 73 years now and still play my guitars ... Beatles and ABBA songs and even Queen sometimes.

Interesting take, I think you mean Trap. But it's okay, most people think Trap is Hip Hop (Rap). I listen to most Old School rap and there is melody and rythm and Interesting guitar lines in fact, with Jazz rap the live instruments there are more interesting and enjoyable to me compared to many other genres. So basically I agree with you. Just wanted to make known that Trap(which is what is most popular) is not Rap.
