I just brought a bottle of the oil and love the smell, and the way it makes my sisterlocs feel. I am 6 months loc and so I use it directly on my scalp and massage it in, and shes right a little goes a long way, and its not heavy nor greasy feeling and one of the best times to use it is after washing your locs to keep them from marrying, which I did copy her shampoo blend that she uses and it works amazing on my locs as well, and I am sure to braid and band. I love the convenience of rinses but I hate the mess! My bathroom sinks and countertops are all white porcelain and so is my shower floor. Even the little beedybees that fall out while running my hands through my hair stain my countertops.

It depends on the state/texture of your hair after a year. Everyone can’t handle coloring their hair after a year. I waited about 17 months and although my colored locs are fine for the most part, they are a bit looser than the rest of my hair and I have to baby them. So I would advise waiting almost 2 years
Can "color" be used over "henna'd hair"? I want to color my locs but have been using henna for a few years now and not sure if it will be safe to transition.

Interestingly no. But I don't overdo the oil. Water causes issues, but not oil so much.

You must not colour over henna'd hair because they will react with each other. The result will wreck your hair.
