Ibn Haldun University holds a special program aimed at reading the poetry of Yunus Emre, the great Anatolian Muslim poet, and savoring its spirituality through traditional Turkish music and song.
Yunus Emre is one of the greatest Muslim poets in Anatolia. He sang of the beauty and fragility of Dunya, and expressed his love for Allah in words that are clear enough to reach the heart of any human being. His poetry is a refreshing remedy for the inexplicable emotions that are at the root of every human being.
The year 2021 marks the 700th anniversary of the death of Yunus Emre. As a special program, we would like to hold a special seminar in which Professor Recep Şenturk will explain the poetry of Yunus Emre.
Professor Recep Şenturk is one of the world's leading scholars who has promoted the study of the cultural, intellectual, and spiritual diversity of Islamic civilization, calling it an "open civilization". His lectures on the poetry of Yunus Emre will deepen our understanding of the spirituality of Islamic civilization.
Also traditional Turkish songs and music will remind us that poetry is not only a philosophy but also an art with rich colors and flavors.
